Nola Discount Pharmacy #2 is a neighborhood pharmacy at 1107 Veterans Blvd in Metairie, Louisiana. For people who need a nearby place to bring prescriptions, ask questions, or pick up medication, its Veterans Boulevard location offers a local alternative to larger chain pharmacies. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; it is closed Sunday. These hours can help customers plan a weekday visit after work or make a Saturday stop, though it is wise to confirm details directly when timing or medication availability matters.
Customer feedback points to friendly, helpful service as one of the pharmacy’s strengths. Several reviewers describe staff members as kind and attentive, and one appreciates the personal care a team member provided when helping with specific preferences. Others say prescription pickup can be quick, including when they bring a prescription in and wait. Reviews also mention a large selection in the store. Experiences are not uniform: some customers report delays, communication problems, or prescription-related errors. Because medication needs are important, customers can help avoid confusion by confirming that a prescription was received and asking the pharmacy to clarify any questions before leaving.
The overall impression from the available reviews is of a community pharmacy with staff who are often praised for being approachable, alongside some reports that service and prescription handling have not always met expectations. The listed rating is 4.4 out of 5, based on 96 reviews, but a rating cannot predict an individual visit. If you are choosing a pharmacy in Metairie, consider your own needs, such as whether you value a convenient Veterans Boulevard location, the stated store hours, or the option to speak with pharmacy staff in person. For time-sensitive prescriptions, contact the store ahead to confirm current availability and expected timing.
Nola Discount Pharmacy #2 may suit local residents and families looking for a nearby pharmacy and a personal point of contact for routine prescription pickup. Its Saturday hours offer an additional option for people who cannot visit during the weekday, while its weekday schedule runs into the evening. Reviews suggest that many customers appreciate the staff’s friendliness and helpfulness, although other accounts describe frustrating experiences. A thoughtful visit starts with clear communication: share the prescription details, check whether it is ready, and raise any concerns with the staff. Located on Veterans Blvd in Metairie, this pharmacy serves customers seeking a local place to manage everyday prescription needs.

I absolutely love the Veterans store Nola. Everyone there is always kind and helpful. I do miss seeing Victoria there regularly and talking with her. I can be pretty particular and she always went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. They tell me she floats between locations now, but truly no matter who helps me, the staff is always amazing. It’s so nice to walk into a pharmacy where people actually care about their patients and treat you like family. Highly recommend!
Great customer service. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Never a long wait, even if I bring the prescription with me and wait for them to fill it. They also never lose prescription that I KNOW was sent in in the computer system and blame me like Walgreens used to do. They always have it in their system and it is usually filled by the time I get there - if it isnt, I barely have enough time to go pick out a nail polish before they have it filled and ready to go.
Who agrees with me there should be absolutely NO MARGIN OF ERROR in the filling of prescriptions? I and my partner had been loyal customers of NOLA Discount Pharmacy since it opened many years ago. A series of errors over a period of less than a month involving three prescriptions that NEITHER of us asked to be refilled soured us on the professionalism of this pharmacy. One of the prescriptions that had been erroneously filled was a medication my partner was HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO. When I spoke to the pharmacist I was told he didn’t know who had “keyed it in.” I asked what that meant. He told me the clerks behind the counter—mostly consisting of high school students—had the authority to “key prescriptions in.” This was appalling to learn. (An eminent doctor told me many pharmacies encourage the refilling of prescriptions to enjoy kickbacks from the pharmaceutical companies.) An even worse experience was when an expensive medication for shingles suddenly appeared months after my partner’s doctor had told him to stop taking it. The same pharmacist at NOLA told me the doctor who had prescribed the shingles medication had sent a refill notification to NOLA. This was a falsehood. I visited her office that same day and the receptionist gave me a computer sheet showing unequivocally that NOLA had sent a request to her office for a refill, not the other way around. In conclusion, neither Patrick nor Zach contacted me with a good will phone call or an apology. So if you agree with me there should be NO MARGIN OF ERROR in filling prescriptions, then I suggest you do what I did and promptly change pharmacies.
In this store ofter. Good pharmacy and large selection store. Friendly staff.
Extremely slow and unprofessional service. I was placed on hold for 15 minutes only to be told they didn’t have my prescribed medication—despite my PCP confirming it was sent. I was transferred four times between staff members—an absolute ridiculous experience for a pharmacy service. This clearly reflects a lack of communication within the team. Completely unprofessional and frustrating. Management needs to address this or risk losing more customers. I won’t be coming back. The wait times on the phone are unacceptable, and the staff is unhelpful. Other pharmacies offer much faster, more competent service.
