OMA Hair Salon

I decided to get my hair cut here because it was on the more affordable end. However, you pay for what you get!! If you have any attachment to your hair, and I do mean ANY attachment, please shell out a couple of extra bucks to go to a trusted salon. I got my hair cut by Li (the owner). My hair was waist-length, and I asked for a trim since I have been trying to grow it out. After the first cut, my hair was noticeably VERY choppy and uneven. It looked like I had haphazardly cut it at 3AM with a pair of kitchen shears. I asked for a revision, which she granted. My initial intention was to trim off max 2-3 inches. With the revision, I ended up having 5-6 inches cut off and am still unhappy with the end result. Li was extremely apologetic and refunded me, which I can appreciate. However, the trouble of having to book ANOTHER hair appointment to get my hair fixed is not worth it. I think that hairstylists need to be honest if they feel that they cannot cut your hair correctly. Frankly, I never understood excuses like "your hair is too thin" to justify a bad haircut. Why not save us both the trouble and tell me that you are not capable before holding a pair of scissors to my head? If you are ever in LA and have fine/Asian hair, I strongly recommend everyone go to Theodora Hair Studio.

I’ve been going to Rosa regularly for my haircuts (short-mid length + layers) for a few years now and she always gets it right. She’s always very attentive and knowledgeable, so when I decided to dye my hair recently I knew I had to book w/ her. Ghost roots + haircut both done by her, and I genuinely could not be happier with the results 💗

Giving this 3 stars because I do really like the salon and both stylists I've had have done great work with my hair. However, I had an appointment at 2:15, which I arrived on time for with Rosa. She told me she'd be done soon - didn't mind, no problem. When she came up to the front to check me in and take me back, she proceeded to speak with a short and passive tone, saying that I had an extra-long haircut rather than just a long haircut. When I spoke with her on the phone, I told her I'd need a long haircut because that is what I've been told by my other stylists at OMA in the past. She said, "I asked you on the phone," then proceeded to tell me the reason why she is behind is that people keep booking the wrong appointments for their hair length. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be not simply an appointment booking issue, but perhaps a combination of a time management issue. Overall, just simply an unprofessional tone. This continued into my appointment while she was cutting my hair and asking what I wanted done. At one point, I asked what she thought or what made sense to her, since she told me nothing I was saying regarding what I wanted done with my hair made sense to her, though I simply requested layers and cutting off dead ends. She did a great job with my hair; she absolutely does great work. I will definitely be back at OMA, but the unprofessionalism from Rosa made the entire experience very off, and although I'm happy with my hair, I would not book with her specifically again.

I love Brianna!!! I went in for a trim and wanted bangs and she did so perfect!! Right after the cut i wasn’t sure if I’m into it but the more I look at it the more I love the way she trimmed overall!!! See picture before and after (the one with bangs is after). Also - Brianna is super fun to talk to and very efficient. Love her!!! Will come back. I also got TONS of compliments of my hair!!! LOVE!!!

Booked an appointment at 4pm. Arrived at 3:59 and waited for 20 minutes without anyone telling me anything. Finally at 4:20 I walked inside and checked with Rosa and was told it was gonna take her another 20 minutes at least to provide service because she was behind. Without any apology or any other explanation. Just asked if I wanted to reschedule. I have been here for multiple times to trim my hair band and recommended to my friends because I thought Rosa did a good job. But never again. If there’s zero star, I’d give them that.
