Sign in to reviewI love trying and experimenting different types of food. I had never heard of Malaysian food so, I immediately became interested. I ordered takeout from One One Asian Cuisine and when I picked it up I met the owner. Super nice guy and very passionate and proud of the food that he serves. My expectations going in was that this was going to be like all the rest of the asian restaurants, but I was totally wrong. My meals were packed full of flavor and just unexpected type of joy while eating these dishes. Hands down one of my new favorite little gems to eat at...
Just went for a second time, ordered the chicken curry laska, taste has changed from when I went around the time it opened. Not bad but could be better. The temperature of the soup is more warm then hot. The chicken has a bad taste to it like it's old and not cooked correctly. If you want the laska and didn't like seadfood, get the vegetarian one and skip the chicken. The first time I had it was much more authentic. Not that it taste bad, but I was a bit disappointed. You order from the screen and get a text when your oder is ready to pick up, which is a good process. Would be nice if there's water dispenser like the other stall at the food court.
It's HALAL and they have halal signed hung. It's a small shop in an Asian food court. We got the chicken laksa which was amazing. Just as good as the laksa I've had in Kuala Lumpur--very flavorful. Also had the chow kway teow and it was very good too but laksa was the best. I will definitely like to come back and try more items. It's a bit far from me but I think worth it when you're having that Malaysian craving.
My Malaysian partner really wanted to have Malaysian food while we were visiting DFW. This place is located inside a food court, and we ordered primarily from One One Asian Cuisine: Nasi Lemak, Chicken Curry Laksa, Roti and Butter Shrimp(?). It was so delicious, and he over ordered with his heart rather than his stomach. No regrets though, the food was fresh and warm. The portions were sizable and filling. We came the evening before Thanksgiving, so I was glad that they had not closed up just yet, or we would've missed out on such a hearty meal. Thank you for the meal! Hope we get to come back in the future.
The Stir Fried Mango Chicken was superb not just because of the palatable presentation but the "Mango" experts in our entourage had never experienced mango cooked in this delightful manner. The Stir Fried Noodle (Seafood) was a little darker owing to the sauce but equally done for a fine dining experience. The Roti Canai (I'm a sucker for Roti Canai) with Curry Chicken had a tinge of the inevitable South Indian spices. Unfortunately, the "layered/cooked paratha" or Katmer (if one is Turkish) had lost its golden color but this bread is my comfort food so I don't like to complain. The Chicken Curry Puff had artisan "pastry sheet" cover and the chicken was indeed mild but tasty. The food court atmosphere should not detract one's dining experience because the short order cook is very experienced. There are many combinations for multiple choices and hence this place deserves more than one visit.
