Dear Hungry Reader, tell me true: do you love yourself? Do you believe you deserve culinary wonders and delights? If you really and truly love yourself and believe that you deserve good - nay, great! - things, then you need to check out Phat Eatery. My wife and I came on the recommendation of a friend and were enraptured by the experience. The vibe inside is immaculate: tasteful and thematically appropriate neon signage decorated a clean, dark industrial scape that is comfortable. The wait staff is also fantastic, especially Irene, who deftly walked us through flavor profiles and spice levels. But lost crucially, of course, was the food. We started with the steamed pork buns, which were out of this world yummy - the buns were soft and light and luscious, the filling savory goodness. My wife tried the Malaysian Chicken Curry, which was spectacular; I ordered the Sizzling Black Pepper Beef (2nd spice level, Serrano), which is presented very similar to fajitas. We shared the most buttery roti I've ever consumed. It suffices to say that we had a wonderful dining experience from top to bottom, and when we return to Katy in the future, we will be exploring more of the magnificent menu (and asking for Irene).

We stopped here for dinner on the way to the katy mills and we were blown away with the flavor of the food and the top shelf service. We started with the most delicious Malaysian calamari I've had so far! I also had the Malaysian fried rice and wow. It's absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of Malaysian food now and we'll hopefully get back again soon. It's tough to visit a place twice in Houston though. 😆

Absolutely delicious. We ordered the Nasi lemak and roti Canai and mango shrimp. The presentation of the Nasi lemak was different than what I'm used to in Malaysia, but it was a nice change and probably the best presentation of Nasi lemak i have seen.

Award winning restaurant for a good reasons. Service and atmosphere: Outstanding service from get go. Our server was polite, friendly and very knowledgeable about food on a menu. She helped us decide on our dishes selection by recommendations. The restaurant was clean, structured, very modern and comfortable. Open bar area in the middle is very nice. Food and drinks: Delicious and well thought through dishes. Traditional selections with fragrant ingredients and seasonings. All of that gave the food authenticity test. The portions were generous. Big selection of various beverages to choose from. Pricing: $$ - super worth it and we will be coming back to dine in here again.
