Pacific French Bakery is a neighborhood bakery in Los Angeles, CA that locals often visit for everyday breads, quick comfort foods, and familiar grab-and-go options. Located on E Olympic Blvd in East Los Angeles, this shop stands out as a practical stop for people looking for fresh baked items in the morning, an easy lunch during the day, or something simple to bring home for the family. With a 4.2 rating across 256 reviews, it has built a steady presence among customers who return for specific favorites and the convenience of a bakery that stays open daily, with slightly shorter hours on Sunday.

What many customers remember most about Pacific French Bakery is its selection of savory and sweet staples that feel rooted in routine. Reviews specifically call out pan frances as a hard-to-find favorite, with one customer saying this is the only bakery they like for it. Others mention tamales, tortas, and pupusas, which gives the shop a broader appeal than a bakery focused only on bread and pastries. If you are searching in Los Angeles for a bakery where you can pick up bread and also order a hearty snack or lunch, this mix of baked goods and prepared foods makes the shop especially useful.

The atmosphere here seems best described as straightforward and neighborhood-oriented rather than polished or trendy. People often come because they know what they want and want to get it close to home. That kind of familiarity matters for local search because many customers are not just looking for any bakery in Los Angeles, CA, but for a place that fits into their regular routine. Whether it is an early bread run, a stop for tamales, or a lunch pickup, Pacific French Bakery serves the kind of everyday needs that keep a local bakery relevant over time.

Customer feedback also gives a balanced picture of the experience. Several reviews praise the food, especially the tamales and bread items, and at least one long-time customer has been visiting since 2017. At the same time, some reviews mention inconsistent freshness with certain breads, less-than-friendly service, and occasional confusion around opening hours. For new visitors, that means it may be worth arriving with a clear order in mind and checking the latest schedule before heading over, especially if you are planning an early stop.

For people exploring Los Angeles bakeries near Olympic Boulevard, Pacific French Bakery can be a good fit for those who value specific staples like pan frances, enjoy tamales or tortas, and prefer a casual local spot over a destination-style pastry shop. It is well suited for nearby residents, workers needing a quick lunch, and families picking up bread and prepared foods in one stop. In a city full of options, this bakery remains part of the local routine for customers who come back for the items they know and like.

Sometimes they don't change the old bread and sell 3 or more who knows how long. This was my 2nd time buying bread and got the hard as a rock sweet bread. The tamales are good though.

This is the only bakery I like going to get my "pan frances". I haven't found any other bakery that sell it.

The service is the worse! The only two girls that I saw there today who took my order were so rude! No manners! Careless and not welcoming! There was a guy just standing there apparently visiting one of the girls who work there. Taking their time and just seem so hostile! Too bad the service! The French rolls are good, but not that good to put up with such bad service and hostile environment! Find other place where you can get the kind of service we deserve! Do not recommend this place!

Been a customer since 2017. Usually come here for the lunch tortas or some pupusas. Their tamales are soo good. I understand girls are busy but they can be a bit more friendly. Food is great but not such a warm welcome I'd say.
