One of the things customers love most about this bakery is the quality and freshness of the bread. Reviewers consistently praise favorites like chilindrinas, a sweet and crunchy treat that many call a must-try when visiting. Other popular items include soft, pillowy conchas (shell-shaped sweet bread), piedras (small rock-like cookies), and puerquitos (pig-shaped gingerbread treats). The bread here is known for being soft, fresh, and absolutely delicious alongside a morning cup of coffee. Panaderia La Pequeña also takes special orders for seasonal items like Rosca De Reyes, the traditional ring-shaped bread enjoyed during the Epiphany celebration in January.
The shop itself is clean and well-organized, a detail that customers appreciate. The bread display is set up behind clear plastic dividers, giving shoppers the freedom to browse and select exactly what they want without everything being handled. This thoughtful setup speaks to the care the team puts into both hygiene and the overall customer experience. It is the kind of place where you feel comfortable bringing your family, knowing that the environment is tidy and the products are handled with respect.
One important note for first-time visitors: Panaderia La Pequeña is cash only, so be sure to bring bills with you. Regulars know that the best selection is available in the morning hours — if you arrive after 10:00 AM, you may find that the most popular items have already sold out. The bakery is closed on Mondays, so plan your visit accordingly. Early risers are handsomely rewarded here with the freshest, fullest display of the day.

Sign in to reviewGreat to see them take care to deliver a delicious clean not all manhandled and with flies. They keep their bread in a separate area devided by plastic that you can see through and select what you want.
Went to the store to buy a Rosca De Reyes, when I arrived they told me it was only available via ordering in advance and that I could not buy any. I went home and I swear 2 hours later my wife is on their social media and sees " first come first serve".
Probably the best Mexican bread you can get in Orange County. If you get anything here it has to be the "chilindrinas" you won't be disappointed! If you go pass 10AM you'd mostly likely miss out on all the yummy bread and get whatever is left. Super recommended. Cash only.
I very much enjoy frequenting this establishment, particularly whilst armed with greenbacks. My favorite panecitos(buns) are the piedras(rocks) and puerquitos(piglets), as well as the conchas(shells) for my mother. Gallons of Rockview 2% and whole fat milk are conveniently sold below pints of the same in addition to chocolate and strawberry varieties, as well as orange juice. They had not made the piedras two days in a row and I decidedly fell into a state of mild languish. I asked on the second time for an explanation. I was calmly informed they were not made that day. The piedras were subsequently reinstated into the bakery’s repertoire, and I am precariously grateful for this. I myself am not often a fan of sweet coffee anymore, and a slightly younger version of me would have very much enjoyed the café served here. The taste of the piedras and puerquitos are the platinum standard as both types are well spiced with subtle overlays of cinnamon and sweetness. The textures are tender and not excessively brittle. Such bread hardly lasts long on the countertop at home. The prices are well serving. Closed on Mondays. Cheers, y que vive el éxito de La Pequeña.
I absolutely love the bread from here 👌🏼 so soft and yummy to have with your coffee in the morning 🤎 …
