Disappointed and then disgusted by the response of the owner by her staff. My first time hosting a wedding engagement for one of my children. It was a special night and the cake was to be the highlight of the night. Pretty disappointed at the writing made on the cake. I wanted the "heart" for love to be covered.not lined. Just cheaply done. It was at 9pm that my daughter would give her speech and cut the cake with her close jewish relatives from LA. She and her fiancé had also driven all the way from LA. I was in the middle of traveling myself and stopped to Vegas to host my daughter's special night. The cake turned out dry and over baked. Her fiancé did not like it and my daughter who was so excited about her cake. She wanted the exact same as her best friend who had ordered the same a month prior. It was done right for her friend unfortunately not hers.. No one raved about the cake and I wondered why until I tried it myself. I just couldn’t believe it. The cream was good but the cake? Was dry with a thick crusts that showed like it was in the oven too long. I took a video and picture of it. I felt bad for my daughter. We were so busy. I finally could call the bakery Monday. nicely to inform them about the cake. Normally I would just forget about it. Done is done but this time I had to because I had spoken to the owner before about how marketing is usually done through parties. Thought she deserved to hear about this cake. At the same time my daughter asked me to ask for credit from them. So I asked for credit for my daughter as she really wanted a cake done right. My message from the owner was they won’t do anything unless the cake was brought to them right after I noticed it with 3/4 of it remaining. I said this was 9pm. How could I possibly bring it over to them? I didn’t know they were open Sunday. I said I have pictures and a video with a slice I kept . I couldn’t save the 3/4 of the cake … we were in a hotel. I asked to speak to the owner and no she won’t call back. Their service to this situation is a huge disappointment. I wanted my daughter to at least have a proper cake to feel better but they won’t fix it since I don’t have the remaining 3/4 of the cake in hand and couldnt bring it over to them at 9 pm ??? They were closed! Any baker would know that they cake was over baked and to still sell it anyway to people who you know will not have a way to return for a new one that big is just absurd. Sadly this attitude of the owner just put a real bad taste in my mouth. I don’t care how great some of their cakes were once to me. This service when we had been friendly once when I was at the bakery? Thought she was nice. But if this is how she runs her business, I wish her the best. Coz I cannot risk her ruining any more of my special sentimental events. Inconsistency is not a chance I would take and I hope no one gets the experience what I did.
The pastry displays are beautiful and definitely eye-catching, which is why I stopped in for breakfast. I tried the spinach quiche, which looked good, but the vegetables on the side seemed a bit tired and the quiche itself felt reheated rather than freshly warmed, with a pastry that wasn’t very flaky. We also ordered a small almond croissant that was served cold. The server kindly offered to warm it up, which I appreciated, but it still came back cold in the center. I’ve enjoyed their cakes in the past and know they have great potential. With a bit more attention to freshness and warming methods, the overall experience could be much better. Sharing this in hopes it helps them improve.
Big disappointment. Im not sure this place is even french. You can taste the cost cutting everwhere. The croissant tasted oily and not buttery. The croque monsieur had cheddar cheese in it 😂 not gruyere, the bechamel was bland and tasteless, the cheese melted on top was just mozzarella not swiss cheese or gruyere, the side salad was garden salad with no dressing. Where is the french in patisserie? I dont recommend this place at all. Not good
I guess I should've known better than to think I could just walk into a bakery and expect to have a fresh cake the same day. I came here as a last resort to get a simple already made cake for my husbands birthday yesterday and sadly it turned out to be a disaster! I called ahead of time to see if they had a whole cake for me to pick up that day but there where a few things that weren't mentioned upfront and that is why I'm giving this place 1 star. First off I was under the assumption that the cakes were pretty fresh like made that day or 1 to 2 days "fresh". Well all the cakes available were in the freezer and I wasn't even told that the cake I bought was going to be 8 days old or more. I guess the light bulb should've gone off in my head when I saw a rabbit themed decor on the so called carrot cake that tasted nothing like carrot cake. The only thing I was told was to leave the cake out for 1 hour and a half. Well those directions did nothing for me. Three hours later when it came time to cut the cake the center was hard as a rock and the rest of the cake that was suppose to be moist immediately crumbled like sand and that's when I realized something was wrong. I can not tell you how upsetting and embarrassing this was at the party. Even my husband who will eat pretty much anything and never complains, said the cake was really really bad. The cake tasted nothing like carrot cake and it was not moist and the frosting on the outside had a very odd after taste that no one could pin down. In short Patisserie Manon sold me a stale cake and this business practice shows me they have zero integrity or safety concern for their customers. The only thing I can tell the rest of you is if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. What I would've appreciated from the start was some transparency about how long the cakes were sitting there in the freezer. After researching online I found that a cake baked the same day will only last about 3-5 days and the cake I bought here, I know for a fact is over a week old. As of today I absolutely do not recommend Patisserie Manon for any baked goods, especially cake. I would go somewhere else where you know the items you are purchasing are fresh and safe to eat. By the way you can tell from the photo that the cake looks nice but once you cut into it it totally crumbles and this is not normal for a fresh cake. Save your time and money and do not get your baked goods here. It's a 2 thumbs way way down for Patisserie Manon.
With at least three French bakery around west Summerlin, we are lucky. Patisserie Manon still serves great pastries and cakes. Love their macarons- they even have Dubai chocolate. French bread is so good. They have expanded their menu and serves soup, salad, and sandwiches. Save my late Saturday evening and was able to get two huge slices of cake for my wife’s celebration. Service is great. Ample parking
