Pho Bistreaux is a Vietnamese pho restaurant at 5359 Mounes St in Elmwood, Louisiana. It offers a local place to sit down for pho or order a meal to take away, with opening hours from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday; the restaurant is closed on Sunday. Its location makes it a practical option for people already in the Elmwood area, including former neighborhood residents who return for a familiar meal. Customer feedback reflects a well-known local stop: Pho Bistreaux has a 4.4-star rating from 532 reviews, alongside the varied experiences that naturally come with a busy restaurant.

Pho is the defining reason to visit. Reviews mention the restaurant’s pho and beef, though opinions about the dish can differ, so diners may want to ask questions about preparation or serving details when ordering. Pho is also available for takeout, but one customer noted that the broth container was large and inconvenient to manage at a hotel without a bowl. If you plan to carry your order elsewhere, it may be worth considering how you will serve it and how sauces and other packaging are arranged. Other guests report enjoying their food, and one review describes dishes arriving hot and fresh. The feedback gives prospective diners useful context without suggesting every visit will be exactly the same.

The dining room has large windows that bring in an outside view, according to a customer review, and another diner mentioned sitting at the bar. Reviewers also describe friendly, attentive service, while one visit found uncleared tables during a quieter period and raised the possibility of staffing constraints. Together, these accounts offer a balanced picture: some guests appreciate the welcome and the setting, while cleanliness and table turnover may not feel equally smooth on every visit. For a first-time guest, the reviews are a reminder that experiences can vary, even as returning customers describe Pho Bistreaux as a place they visit regularly when nearby.

Pho Bistreaux may suit people looking for Vietnamese pho in Elmwood, Louisiana, whether they want to dine in or bring food back to their lodging or home. It can also be a useful choice for former residents returning to a neighborhood favorite, as well as local diners who want a straightforward restaurant meal during the day or early evening. Check the restaurant’s current hours before setting out, especially if planning a Sunday visit, since the listed schedule shows it closed that day. Whether you are stopping by for a bowl of pho or exploring a Vietnamese restaurant near Mounes Street, customer reviews provide a helpful range of perspectives on the food, service, and dine-in experience.

I love this place. This is the only pho restaurant that I eat. I visit this spot at least twice a month when I’m in the area. I use to live near the area, so when they opened I was always there. Food was great as usual, but I didn’t like how my food was packed. Someone packed the sauces packs on my food and that grossed me out. Let alone it’s not sanitary to do such. Please don’t do that again. May not be a problem to others. But, I’m sure it’s a health code violation.

Ordered takeout to take to hotel, terrible idea for pho because the broth container is massive and I had nothing to make a bowl. Turns out I didn’t care for their pho, especially the beef as it was raw (not rare imo). Only pic I took. The one star off was for this. We had two 5 star dishes too! The pork and shrimp spring rolls were phenomenal! Love the peanut sauce too. These were hands down the best spring rolls I have ever had and I would one thousand percent go back for them. My husband had Grilled beef and rice, add grilled shrimp and egg roll. It comes with salad with a delicious homemade dressing. This dish was 5 stars, even as takeout. Sorry I led with the bad instead of the good.

Came in to order food to go, asked if they had anything quick for me to eat while I waited and they said it would take a couple minutes for pretty much anything to get made. So I go on and just order my food, and while I’m waiting I guess he could tell I was hungry because he came by with some spring rolls on the house. Wasn’t even another 5 minutes before my food was ready. Seriously what a great bunch and delicious food :)

I visited Pho Bistreaux to order dine-in and was in shock at the amount of tables that were not cleared. Maybe short-staffed, but I arrived about 2 hours after lunch. Definitely need to pay more for employees if this is what short-staffing looks like. Back to the food. I ate at the bar since it wasn’t surrounded with past-due plate retrieval. The server was engaged and welcoming. She allowed me to try a complimentary sample of one of their sliders after I inquired. The slider was ok. It would have been better if the flat bread was warmed and with a little more sauce. The combination beef pho had an excellent broth. The meatballs were really bad and had this low-quality bagged taste. I couldn’t eat them after two. The bowl and plate seemed to have not been cleaned too well. I can’t recommend this Pho Bistreaux and am unsure if I’m willing to visit again.
