Phở Pasteur Restaurant | Vietnamese is a straightforward, neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant in Union City, CA, serving the kind of hot, dependable meals people look for when they want pho without a lot of fuss. Located at 31860 Alvarado Blvd in a busy strip mall, the restaurant is close to familiar Asian shopping stops such as Seafood City and Valerios Bakery, with plenty of free parking reported by customers. With a 4.2 rating from more than 400 reviews, it has become a practical local choice for pho, rice plates, and fresh rolls in the Union City area. Its central location makes it easy for commuters, shoppers, and nearby residents to stop in without planning a special trip.
The main draw is pho: flavorful broth, generous portions, and a menu with many soup options. Reviewers often mention the No. 1 soup, fresh side vegetables, and the ability to choose between rice noodles and egg noodles, which makes ordering easy for different preferences. The fresh shrimp rolls and spring rolls are also popular for a lighter meal or a quick takeout order, while rice plates give dinner guests another filling option beyond noodle soup. The food is commonly described as tasty, fast, and a good value for the portion size, especially for a casual lunch or an affordable family meal. That mix makes the menu useful for groups where one person wants a classic bowl, another wants rice, and someone else just wants rolls to share.
The atmosphere is unassuming and no-frills, more focused on comfort and speed than decoration. Guests describe a typical pho spot with plenty of tables for dining in, a large menu, and no outdoor seating. Service is often noted as friendly and efficient, with orders arriving quickly after being placed; a few reviews also suggest that the phone or counter experience can feel brisk, so expectations are best set for a busy, casual Vietnamese dining room rather than a polished fine-dining setting. For many regulars, that practical style is part of the appeal.
Open daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Phở Pasteur Restaurant fits well for lunch breaks, early dinners, takeout, and relaxed meals before or after grocery shopping nearby. Because the restaurant keeps a consistent schedule seven days a week, it is also easy to remember for repeat visits. It is a good match for pho lovers, families looking for solid portions, solo diners who want quick service, and anyone searching for a Vietnamese restaurant in Union City that keeps the focus on broth, noodles, rice plates, and fresh rolls. If you are near Alvarado Blvd and want a reliable bowl in a convenient strip-mall location, this spot offers a simple, familiar choice rooted in everyday Vietnamese comfort food.

Sign in to reviewNo frills pho but the broth is flavorful, good value for the portions, and the food comes out fast. Typical pho spot with many different options, the side veggies are fresh and the service is friendly. They can also accommodate between rice and egg noodles.
This unassuming spot is located within the strip mall. There are lots of free parking spaces available. You're greeted with a smile and a thick Vietnamese accent. There is no outdoor seating. A decent number of choices on their menu. You can't go wrong with their No. 1 soup and fresh shrimp rolls.
Nicely located next to Seafood City and a few other Asian places to shop like Valerios Bakery. Food is decent and tasty and good portion. Has plenty of tables for dining in and pretty large menu. They have a good selection for pho soup. We ordered their rice plates for dinner and was tasty. Prices are steep compared to San Jose. Overall good Vietnamese eatery for the area. Cheers!
The food here was phenomenal!! Our order was taken by the restaurant grandpa, and he was the sweetest. He literally walks away, and two minutes later, our food is at our table. The broth was delicious. Some of the best we have had around this area. And then best part is, it was affordable.
First visit. Ordered spring rolls to go. They are large, so the price was fair. They were fresh and tasted good, but a bit skimpy on the pork and the sauce could definitely use more peanuts. Woman that answered the phone was curt and once she realized I was not ordering more items she hung up. I wasn’t even sure she put my order in, but it was there when I arrived.
