Pomelo | Thai Boutique Restaurant is a Thai restaurant on Magazine Street in New Orleans, LA, at 4113 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115. The restaurant brings Thai flavors to an intimate neighborhood setting, with a menu that customers describe as modern and fusion-inspired while still tasting balanced and recognizably Thai. Its compact size is part of the experience: reviewers mention a small number of indoor tables and a couple of two-person sidewalk tables. If you are planning to dine in, keep that limited seating in mind, especially when visiting with a group. Pomelo also has a 4.8-star rating from 651 reviews, reflecting a strong response from diners, though the best guide to a meal is still your own preferences and appetite.

Customer favorites mentioned in reviews include Panang chicken, curry, papaya salad, and tom kha soup with shrimp or seafood. One diner praised the Panang’s flavor, while another remembered a creamy, smooth curry with rich coconut flavor that did not feel overpowering. Papaya salad and seafood soup round out the range described by guests, from bright, fresh-tasting dishes to warming, coconut-rich bowls. Reviews also mention rice served with a takeout soup order. These are customer impressions rather than a guarantee of a particular preparation, but they offer a helpful starting point if you are deciding what to explore at this Thai restaurant in New Orleans.

Pomelo may be especially worth considering for vegetarians and vegans: one reviewer specifically encouraged them to visit and said the restaurant was accommodating. Guests also describe the food as fresh and flavorful, and one visitor returned twice during a five-day trip to New Orleans. That kind of repeat visit suggests Pomelo can appeal to travelers looking for a memorable Thai meal as well as locals seeking a small, personal restaurant experience. The atmosphere sounds petite rather than spacious or formal, so it may suit a relaxed meal for a couple or a small party better than a large gathering. Staff friendliness is another positive detail noted by a customer.

For a useful picture of what to expect, think intimate dining, attentive hospitality, and Thai dishes with layered flavors rather than a large dining room. Some diners have noted that Pomelo does not have a liquor or beer-and-wine license and that guests may bring their own beverages; policies can change, so check directly before relying on that detail. Hours are not listed in the available business information, so confirm current opening times before visiting. Whether you are craving Panang chicken, curious about tom kha, or looking for accommodating choices as a vegetarian or vegan, Pomelo | Thai Boutique Restaurant offers a distinct neighborhood option on Magazine Street. Its small footprint, well-regarded flavors, and convenient Uptown location make it a place to consider when exploring Thai food in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Le Petite Thai restaurant uptown. As others have said, it's petite, with a small handful of tables inside and a couple 2-tops on the sidewalk in front. No liquor or beer & wine license, but you can bring your own. I only had a Panang Chicken on this visit. Panang is a benchmark Thai dish and this one was well-balanced in flavors of curry, coconut milk, red pepper and galangal.

Pomelo is one of those places I still think about long after I’ve left. It’s a modern, fusion-style Thai restaurant, but the flavors are still very authentic and well balanced. We ordered a curry, papaya salad, and a seafood soup. The curry was creamy and smooth, with rich coconut flavor but not overly heavy. The papaya salad had the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy — super refreshing and a great starter. The seafood soup was packed with ingredients like mussels and shrimp, and the broth had deep, layered flavor. The atmosphere feels more like a boutique restaurant than a casual Thai spot — clean, stylish, and comfortable. It’s a great place for dinner with friends or family. Service was good overall, and the food came out at a reasonable pace. If you enjoy Thai food but want something a little more refined and elevated, this place is definitely worth trying. I still find myself missing this meal.

Ordered 1 large tom kha with shrimp and another with seafood $28 + taxes on uber eats. (Paid $6 extra for large but the portions didn't feel like the extra payment was worth it ). They had a buy 1 get 1 offer going. It came with white rice. The food tastes fresh and yummy.

Came here 2 times during our 5-day trip! We loved everything we ordered, food here is definitely the best of best. Staff is also very friendly. I only wish the restaurant was bigger. Will come again if I come back to NOLA
