My nephew and I had booked this tour many years ago and cancelled the whole trip due to the pandemic. This summer we finally made the trip happen and this food tour was still top of our list of things to do in Portland. We both enjoyed it immensely because the food choices were delicious and eclectic, but also because of the thoughtful tour through the neighborhood, educating us on other important and historical locations. I'll gladly do another tour with Portland by Mouth the next time I'm in town!

We chose to do the Vibrant Kerns Hood Food Tour (1/26/26), with guide Sherri, who guided us to walk around the Kerns neighborhood near East Burnside. We started at Guero with delicious Tortas and Hibiscus tea (Agua de Jamaica). We tasted 2 items that we probably would have never ordered on a Mexican menu. It was incredibly delicious. We proceeded to walk around the neighborhood, briefly wandering through two wonderful grocery stores and observing older buildings and homes, about which Sherri knew a great deal of their history. Despite it being a winter walk on a typical rainy day in Portland, we took time to enjoy the trees, plants, and art that made the walk even more enjoyable. We stopped at a very unique community market. We tried a Sushi Burrito (Rolling Fresh) and Classic Cocktails (Friendship Kitchen), where I had the most delicious Pho (Old) Fashioned. Last stop was Korean Fried Chicken (NOMO in Pod 28). The day’s meal was topped off with a mochi doughnut from Mikiko’s. Despite the rain, we had a very enjoyable day. Sherri is fun and knowledgeable and made for a delightful guide. I would highly recommend a tour with Portland By Mouth. You will have a unique food experience and a great time!

What a great day on N. Mississippi! Sherri showed us the quirks and history of an area we had driven through before but hadn't explored. She knew the back-story and the owners of most of the stops we made, and pointed out unique architectural facets. But the star of the trip was the diverse food choices we had. The neighborhoods held ethnic and eclectic foods that were worth the trip!!

We had a wonderful experience on the Buckman food tour with Portland by Mouth. Our tour guide, Michael, was friendly, knowledgeable and truly felt like a friend by the end of the tour. If you take this tour you will be guaranteed amazing …

Can't recommend this tour enough! My friend and I did the Bustling Buckman Hood tour and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Michael, was so knowledgeable about Portland's food scene and just great to hang out with for a few hours. He introduced us to several places we never would have found otherwise and left us with a huge list of further recommendations to try. My only regret is that we didn't do this tour earlier in our trip so that we had more time to get to all these places!
