Pound House Coffee is a Vietnamese restaurant and café at 703 Broadway in Somerville, MA, serving Vietnamese coffee, matcha drinks, and a selection of bánh mì and other food. It is a place to stop for a carefully made drink, a casual meal, or time with a laptop. Visitors mention strong Wi-Fi, a spacious setting, and lovely service, making the café appealing to people who want to work or study as well as those meeting for coffee. Its customer rating is 4.7 from 176 reviews, offering a useful snapshot of guest feedback without taking the place of your own preferences.

Coffee is a central part of the experience. Customer favorites include the iced egg coffee, salted coffee, and egg coffee, with reviews describing the Vietnamese coffee as strong and the drinks as thoughtfully prepared. One visitor especially enjoyed the iced egg coffee, savoring its egg foam alongside the coffee for a rich, layered sip. Others praise the salt coffee for its distinctive taste. Matcha is another draw: guests mention iced and salted matcha lattes, smooth texture, balanced sweetness and bitterness, carefully made foam, and crushed ice. If you enjoy drinks with contrasting flavors and textures, these options may be a good fit.

For food, Pound House Coffee offers Vietnamese favorites such as tofu bánh mì and grilled pork bánh mì. Reviews describe the tofu sandwich as fresh and enjoyable, while another customer chose the grilled pork bánh mì with drinks. Egg rolls are also mentioned among the food items, though one guest who arrived a little after noon on a weekend found that several dishes had sold out. That experience is a reminder that availability can vary, particularly during a busy visit; checking with the café when you arrive is the most reliable way to learn what is being served. The menu brings together café drinks and Vietnamese food for a flexible stop rather than a coffee-only visit.

The atmosphere appears suited to a range of everyday plans: a morning coffee, a bánh mì lunch, a study session, or a relaxed catch-up. One review notes that the café was already packed shortly after noon on a weekend, while other guests highlight the generous work-and-study space and strong Wi-Fi. Pound House Coffee is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Whether you are looking for Vietnamese coffee in Somerville, a salted matcha, or a fresh bánh mì alongside your drink, this Broadway café offers a convenient daytime option. Consider arriving earlier if a particular food item is important to your visit.

Probably the best ice matcha latte I’ve had in Boston! Both the tastes and textures are super smooth: perfect blend of sweetness, bitterness, and saltiness (I ordered the salted matcha); carefully crafted foam, layering and crushed ice. Every sip is pleasantly consistent and satisfying. In addition, the environment is very cool too! So glad I found this place!

Vietnamese café with solid coffee and matcha. Stopped by a few weekends ago, a little past noon, and the place was already packed. Most of the food items (including the egg rolls) were sold out by then, so we ended up ordering the grilled pork bánh mì, a salted matcha latte, and an egg coffee. The salted matcha latte was great. This was only my second time trying salted foam on a latte, but the sweet-and-salty combination worked as expected. The foam added a pleasant savory note that balanced the matcha nicely without overwhelming it. The egg coffee, unfortunately, was bad. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes for a fresh batch of egg foam, but even then, it didn’t integrate well with the espresso and tasted bitter. My Vietnamese friend mentioned that egg coffee is typically much sweeter (closer to a dessert coffee), so this wasn’t quite what I imagined. The grilled pork bánh mì was good. Can’t say I eat enough banh mi to call this top-tier or not, but the baguette had the right crunch. Just wish there was more sauce.

My sister has been telling me about Pound House Coffee's Iced Egg Coffee for months, so I had to try it when I came into Boston. Happy to say it 100% lives up to the hype! The Iced Egg Coffee is delicious. Eat a spoonful of the egg foam and then sip the coffee for a decadent blend of caffeine and sweet creamy goodness. I also had the Bo Kho and it was the perfect cozy meal on a cold winter day. It's got a nice light kick to warm you up, and it comes with a baguette for you to tear up and dip. 10/10 no notes. My family got the grilled pork bahn mi, grilled chicken spring rolls, and the avocado toast. All excellent dishes as well! All that to say- if you find yourself near Ball Square then do yourself a favor and come check this place out!
