Sign in to reviewI‘m from Germany and I really missed good bread here, when I found out about Prager Brothers I was skeptical but I was very surprised by the quality and taste of the bread. Absolutely amazing! I really liked the Bauernbrot.
This is an above average bakery with a nice selection. I give 3 stars because I’ve literally never been in without the food items have flies on them. Rest assured there will be at least two flies within the food case. If it were my store I’d obsess over eliminating that issue. Has made me walk out multiple times.
COME HERE!!! (Details below) A young man helped me out today at the front door. This amazing LAD gave me advice on what sourdough bread I should pick. He also saw I came in carrying a whole bunch of things and gave me a bag to carry everything out in. I pridefully rejected the bag the first time he offered but he just smiled when he saw me almost drop things with my full hands and opened the bag. This individual represents CLASSIC hospitality that makes people feel welcome in a community. I moved from the USA to Europe because I wanted to feel more warmth and community. This man reminded me of the warmth I feel over 5,500 miles away studying in Lisbon Portugal. The prices are also very reasonable for a bakery (especially in this day and age) The sourdough is very respectable! (While not the best in the world, it is DEFINITELY worth the price!). Please keep in mind I am a foodie and am used to baking and eating the fancy Europeans breads. This place will not disappoint :)
The country sourdough loaf is next level. It keeps well in the freezer too. Everything is made from scratch, old school style. Worth a stop!! Update: Definitely try their pastries and take away sandwiches too. Their morning buns are lovely. Just tried their apple galette and wow wow wow. 😋
The first photo is what the spicy Italian used to look like. The second photo is what they look like now. And it still costs the same amount. No more arugula, barely any meat. Very sad.
