With a 4.5-star rating from 331 reviews, the salon is a local option for people looking for a haircut, color service, highlights, balayage, or extensions in Phoenix. Reviews mention individual stylists by name, so you may want to ask about availability with the person whose work or experience sounds like the right fit for you.

Color services are a recurring reason clients visit r Salon. Reviewers describe full color and highlights to blend or disguise gray regrowth, as well as balayage and requests to reach a particular color. One client with very curly hair appreciated finding a stylist who could create a haircut and color approach that felt more manageable for their hair. Another reviewer valued a stylist’s explanation of how to work toward a desired color and was pleased with the day-one result. These experiences reflect individual appointments, but they offer a useful sense of the salon’s range of color work and the value clients place on clear communication.

Haircuts, styling, and extensions are also part of the feedback. Clients describe satisfying haircuts and say they have returned to the salon over several years. One reviewer praised a stylist’s work with hairstyles and extensions, while another said the team was welcoming and included men and women with different hair types. If you are considering a significant change, color service, or extensions, it can help to discuss your goals, maintenance needs, timing, and any expectations with your stylist before the appointment. That conversation gives you a chance to understand the proposed service and decide whether it suits your hair.

The atmosphere is described as friendly and attentive, with clients saying they enjoy coming in for a pampering appointment and have found a salon home there. r Salon may suit Phoenix residents seeking a welcoming salon for routine cuts, gray coverage, highlights, balayage, or a new style, including people with curly hair who want to talk through what works for them. The salon is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed Sunday. Located on E Camelback Road, r Salon offers a central Phoenix address for clients planning a salon visit.
