Regan Nursery is a plant nursery in Fremont, CA, on Decoto Rd, that attracts people who want to spend real time choosing plants instead of rushing through a quick errand. With a 4.6 rating from 273 reviews, it has become a well-regarded stop for local gardeners, homeowners, and anyone planning a yard refresh. Several visitors describe the space as feeling more like a rose garden than a typical store, which fits the way many people browse here: slowly, comparing color, size, and shape before deciding what belongs in their garden. That makes it appealing for people comparing options for a front yard, backyard bed, or a few potted plants on a patio.
The selection is one of the biggest strengths. Reviews mention roses in many colors, annuals, perennials, shade trees, fruit trees, succulents, and even carnivorous plants, along with plenty of other healthy-looking stock. That range makes Regan Nursery useful for different kinds of projects, whether someone is planting a border, adding seasonal color, building a new flower bed, or looking for a fruit tree to grow at home. It is the kind of place where plant lovers can compare options side by side and pick something that fits both the space and the season. The nursery also seems especially strong for shoppers who like to see different sizes and colors in person before making a final choice.
Customers also consistently point to friendly, knowledgeable staff. When shoppers need help with plant choices or planting tips, the team is often described as approachable and ready to explain the basics. That matters at a plant nursery where the right match depends on sunlight, soil, and how much care a plant will need after it goes home. For buyers who want guidance about what will work in the local climate, that kind of direct help can be especially useful. A few reviews note that prices can be higher than at big-box stores, and everything is final sale, so it helps to inspect each plant carefully and ask questions before buying. For people who value selection and guidance over the lowest sticker price, that tradeoff can make sense.
Overall, Regan Nursery suits rose fans, fruit-tree shoppers, and Fremont residents who want a calm place to browse and compare options in Fremont, CA. It is also a strong fit for gardeners who appreciate a thoughtful, local shopping experience and do not mind taking a little extra time to choose well. It is the sort of local business where patience matters, and where choosing the right plant can feel more important than getting the fastest transaction. If you are looking for a dependable plant nursery in Fremont that offers variety, practical advice, and an atmosphere that feels closer to a garden walk than a quick retail stop, this is a business worth considering.

Sign in to reviewLoved this place, didn’t even noticed we spent 3:30 hrs. It felt like I was at the rose garden as the place was 3/4th occupied with roses. You will find a variety of colors but it’s a bit pricy compared to Home Depot and Lowe’s. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They were readily available to listen to our queries and provide good solutions or alternatives. The other 1/4 covers varieties of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, Anna apples, lemons, other fruits, papaya, hibiscus, outdoor hanging plants, some shrubs, Mandevilla’s and melons nursery beds. They also have a room to accommodate indoor plants, water fountains, plant foods. Outside are some varieties of plant soil, pot mix etc. free parking lot available. Also there are paper rolls bundle free of cost to wrap our plants, if needed. Upon asking for discounts, they mentioned they give 10% discount on purchase of 5 plants/ saplings. The roses start at $69, $79 and $149. Do check the entire place as the ones that are $79 are placed on a corner. Do reconcile the items with receipt before you leave because today a pot mix soil was added by mistake at the checkout so we went back and since they have an entry in hard copy it became easy to verify and money was refunded. They mentioned that there are no returns like in Home Depot if the plant wilts or doesn’t grow as expected but they will be happy to assist in case of questions, solutions etc
The place is good with plenty variety of plants, however they are a bit expensive. We were there to specifically get a fruit plant and were disappointed with the customer service. We picked out a fruit tree we liked and asked the front desk person on details or tips on planting it but he simply advised us to read the label 😑 Same with the lady at the checkout counter.
First, the good stuff: they have a huge selection of plants: annuals, perennials, all manner of shade trees and fruit trees, and so on. The bad: EVERYTHING is final sale, so you have to be EXTREMELY careful in what you select to buy. I bought around $1000 worth of flowers and fruit trees from them, and did not have any issues until I bought a Fuerte avocado tree from them that had some black stems. I asked the gentleman sitting in front of their office, and he claimed it's just due to chilly winters and is normal, so I bought it. It wasn't until after planting, and it dying shortly afterwards, that I realized it probably had root rot. During transplantation, the roots were discolored and small (healthy roots are plentiful and white). While I'm no certified arborist, I'm not a newbie either; I've planted many shade and fruit trees, with proper root scoring, hole depth/width, soil mix, etc, and those are all thriving. This avocado tree is the only one that died. I emailed them twice to see if there can be an exception made for this instance, to either refund the $90 that I paid for the avocado tree, or to exchange for a healthy one. I never got a response. Definitely do your due-diligence, unless you're absolutely sure the plant you picked out at Regan is 100% healthy, go to Summer Winds, Yamagami's, Costco, etc, instead. These other stores have comparable pricing and selections, but more importantly, HAVE AN ACTUAL RETURN/EXCHANGE POLICY.
It’s a great place to browse and purchase variety of plants. They have several kinds of rose plants, perennial, seasonal and annual plants along with some succulents and carnivorous plants. The plants seem quite healthy and happy. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this place to all.
Dorothy is amazing - we were mistakenly sold a Bing cherry tree as a self-pollinator (and it’s not) 3 years back. Upon realizing this so late, I reached out and she offered to give us a self-pollinating Lapins cherry tree for free as compensation. That’s remarkable customer service.
