The bread gets special attention too: freshly baked French bread with a toast that is crisp without being overly hard or dry. That balance matters in a good Vietnamese sandwich, and it is one reason Sandwich Express is often mentioned by locals searching for banh mi in Reseda. The atmosphere, based on customer feedback, comes across as casual and busy rather than polished. Sign in to reviewFood is tasty, but staff is not friendly and food safety is out the window. I used to come here often but after a worker got rude with me over wanting soy sauce for my food I swore it off. I was willing to give a second chance and I got burned. Was told if I want any soy sauce now it’s a dollar. I chose not to pay But got my usual, It was good, until the second roll. I got a piece of tape rolled into my food! No idea where the tape is from but it’s definitely not unsettled rice paper wrapper. So gross! I’m disgusted and can’t finish the third roll. Waste of food….
These Vietnamese sandwiches are “The best sandwiches in town” as advertised on their packaging. French bread is freshly baked for that perfect toast that’s not too dry as I’ve had at other spots. The sandwich was over 12inches long and made to order. My go to Vietnamese sandwich is grilled pork with everything and they are generous with the meat. Sandwiches are so good that I end up never saving the other half. They offer clean seats and tables but nothing to boast about.
Ordered the roast pork. Very big sandwich you can easily split or save the other half for later. I don’t know what liquid they add on top of the sandwich but it was amazing! The bread soaks up all the juices and it’s a flavor bomb with every bite. I will say their pork is no where near as tender as valley of sandwiches.
Overall great bang for buck. The bahn mi are huge and delicious. Bread is fresh and not too crunchy. Downsides are the service is very unorganized. The ladies behind the counters are yelling and handing out special call in orders. Also, they have a secret menu thats not displayed anywhere. My order was forgotten and the order was wrong when I eventually got it. Also, the atmosphere isn't very welcoming. Its loud, hot, Dirty tables and floors. Its just a good fast food take out type place. I'll still be back to try other things but definitely won't be eating it there.
Their Banh Mi is so good and the serving is excellent, you can not finish one sandwich in one sitting. They baked their own baguette and sauce.
