Despite the name, Seafood City is known for much more than seafood. The seafood selection is a major part of the experience, with many fish options available for shoppers planning traditional meals, soups, fried dishes, or weekend family gatherings. For those building a pantry, the store can be especially useful for hard-to-find seasonings, noodles, condiments, rice, canned goods, and regional snacks that may not be available in a standard American supermarket.

Reviewers point out that the store has a good-looking layout, ample parking, and a wide range of Filipino items alongside Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and other Asian products. The consistent daily hours, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Sunday, also make it convenient for morning errands, after-work shopping, and last-minute dinner plans.

Another reason people visit this Supermarket in Hayward, CA is the food-focused experience beyond the grocery aisles. Customers mention a small food court, Filipino bakeries, and a Jollibee in the building, making it a useful stop when you want groceries and a quick meal or treat in the same trip. This makes the location a good fit for busy families, students, commuters, and anyone who appreciates the comfort of familiar flavors. The overall feel is casual and practical, with the energy of a community market where people shop for both daily meals and special occasions.

Like many specialty markets, prices can vary, and some shoppers feel certain items are on the higher side compared with other stores. For fresh meat and seafood, it is always smart to check quality carefully before purchasing, especially if you are planning a specific dish. Still, for shoppers seeking selection, convenience, Asian grocery variety, and Filipino-focused products in Hayward, Seafood City Supermarket Hayward offers a dependable local option with a wide range of choices under one roof. Don’t be fooled by the name, Seafood City is much more than just seafood. This is a large, well-stocked Asian supermarket with an impressive variety of goods. You’ll find fresh produce, sauces, spices, snacks, and drinks from across Asia, including Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Filipino, and more. Of course, the seafood section is extensive and fresh, but the real surprise is everything else. There’s a bakery offering warm, fresh bread products, and two restaurants serving up delicious hot meals right on-site. Whether you’re shopping for ingredients or grabbing a bite, Seafood City is a fantastic stop for all your Asian grocery needs.

I used to enjoy shopping here, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. I recently purchased meat that had clearly gone bad, but it looked like the surface had been altered or “refreshed” to appear fresh. I understand the importance of minimizing losses, but not when it comes at the risk of people’s health. I’m truly disappointed in Seafood City and will no longer be buying my meats here.

This is one of the cleanest grocery stores around Hayward. Everything is very organized. There's also a good variety of Korean, Chinese and Japanese snacks and drinks and other items and a good variety of Filipino items. There are a lot of fish. There's even skincare and household items. However, according to my mother who is a very experienced chef, the meat is not the freshest. We got some snacks and drinks instead.

It’s a good looking Filipino supermarket grocery store with ample parking. For the items I looked at, prices seemed high and I went elsewhere. There’s also a small food court and a Jollibee in the building.

I must say I am not a fan of this Asian Store as I find prices overpriced. That being said I love the food court, Filipino bakeries and the variety of choices. It’s also expensive but it’s a little pricey to pay for convenience.
