The selection is one of the reasons shoppers return. Reviews call out a substantial noodle section, aloe drinks, vegetables, fruit, meat and many varieties of rice. Customers also mention finding Shanxi vinegar and chicken gizzards, examples of the more specific pantry and fresh-food items available alongside familiar staples. Selection and availability can vary, so a particular product may be worth confirming in person. For cooks stocking up on noodles, rice, produce or ingredients for home-style Asian meals, the store’s size and range can make it useful to browse rather than make a quick, narrowly focused stop. Shoppers report that prices are generally reasonable, though promotions may not be a major feature.

Inside, reviewers describe bright lighting, tidy displays and a clean, orderly environment. The spacious aisles and extensive product range may suit shoppers who like to compare options, discover unfamiliar ingredients or shop for several members of a household at once. It can also be a practical stop for people looking for everyday produce and groceries as well as specialty items. Some shoppers mention decorative dragons on the ceiling, adding a distinctive detail to the store’s interior. As with any large market, asking an employee for help may be useful when an item is hard to locate; one reviewer noted that communication was not always easy, so allowing extra time to find a product yourself can help.

Shun Fat (SF) Portland has a 4.1-star rating based on 1,465 reviews. Customer experiences vary, and reviews mention occasional questions about checkout pricing as well as differences in the surrounding shopping area. The market itself is frequently described as clean, bright and stocked with a wide choice of goods. The parking lot is full of transient, and the vendors inside the shopping centers werent all opened so it gave off an eerie feeling walking into the supermarket. Once inside you're greeted by bright light and overwhelming options of rice, ramen noodles and mounds of fresh produce and fruits. They also carry veggies that may not be easy to find elsewhere. The store is clean, organized and good prices overall. Cashiers are fast and efficient. Owners act like they suspect some customers come in steal... Just strange eye contact, especially when you have a large purse.

This place is huge! I mean it’s like you could take every Asian market in Vancouver and hide them inside it. And what’s more, it’s well lit. And it’s organized. And clean. In fact it feels a little strange. I lived in Asia for years and I spend an inordinate amount of time in Asian markets and Shun Fat is extraordinary on a variety on levels. It is one of the best stocked, biggest, cleanest, Asian markets I’ve ever been in. There are things there lining the aisles I haven’t seen since I left Asia 30 years ago. Endless varieties of chili oils, frozen dumplings, noodles, sauces, meats, fish, bits, pieces, mysterious things! I mean you could spend weeks wandering around this place trying things, learning about the world… making wonderful mistakes. Now it’s true that there are some pretty predatory shoppers there and although I had heard of the legendary little old Asian lady shoppers I was unprepared for the line of diminutive women who ruthlessly cut in front of me in the checkout line until a gentleman behind me threatened to call the manager and yelled at them. But even that was kind of an adventure! Shun Fat just screams to be explored. It wants to educate you, to become a part of your life. Literally if you can’t travel abroad then this the next best thing. You get to know a place like this. Not just the candy aisle. The whole place. After you leave, do yourself a favor and wander around the building. Lots of fun stuff to see.

I really like this store. I love the noodle selection, I always find my aloe drinks here, veggies are good, meat is.good and I usually find what I came here for. It's a four star because even though I love to shop here when I can't find something and have to ask I can't understand what he is yelling at me, usually I don't ever have to ask cause I know where everything is but the few times i do, it's impossible to get help. I still love this store and I still love coming here. I got my brother his gas single stove to cook hotpot here and it was way cheaper here then anywhere else. Kimchi is okay here. Overall I would recommend coming here to try it out, if you have a question ask a cashier.

Average Asian market. Gave it a three because I purchased a glass bottle of water and my sister purchased one less than 3pmin later. I was charged 10cents extra for mine and no one knew exactly why. Store was clean and neat. plenty of items and I loved the dragons in the ceiling
