Small Pleasures is a jeweler at 142 Newbury St, Boston, MA 02116, in the heart of Boston’s Newbury Street shopping area. It’s a local stop for people browsing distinctive jewelry, looking for a meaningful piece, or hoping to have a favorite item adjusted or repaired. Customer feedback highlights a selection described as unique and beautiful, alongside experiences with jewelry repair and ring resizing. The shop has a 4.8-star rating from 53 reviews, giving visitors a useful snapshot of customer impressions while leaving room to consider their own needs and preferences.
The jewelry selection is a recurring reason customers visit. Reviewers mention finding pieces that feel special, including a ring that one visitor from Connecticut loved enough to have resized before it was safely shipped home. If you’re exploring Newbury Street and want to browse in person, Small Pleasures offers a chance to see its selection firsthand and ask questions before choosing. It may suit shoppers looking for a distinctive gift, a personal keepsake, or a piece they don’t encounter in every store. Specific styles, materials, and current inventory are not listed here, so contacting the shop directly is the best way to ask about a particular item.
Small Pleasures also handles jewelry repair and resizing, according to customer accounts. One reviewer praised a pearl earring repair completed while they were in the shop, while another described a ring resizing handled by the goldsmith and shipped to another state. Other reviews report beautifully completed repair work, polishing, reasonable pricing, and a turnaround of about a week and a half. These accounts suggest the shop may be worth contacting about a repair or fit adjustment, but the timing, price, and available services can depend on the individual piece and the work requested.
Experiences are not uniform, especially when it comes to service and repairs. While several customers describe staff as friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, another reviewer felt their visits were cold and unwelcoming. A separate customer reported that a requested gray pearl was replaced with a white one and later fell out of an antique ring. If you’re bringing in a valuable, antique, or sentimental piece, it’s sensible to confirm the stone, repair details, price, and expected timeline before work begins. Clear communication can help make sure expectations are understood on both sides.
The shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed Sunday. You’ll find Small Pleasures at 142 Newbury St in Boston, Massachusetts, making it convenient to add to a Newbury Street visit. Whether you’re browsing for unique jewelry, asking about a ring adjustment, or considering a repair, bring your questions and describe what you’re looking for. For specific inventory, repair availability, or current turnaround estimates, check directly with the jeweler before making the trip.

I LOVE this place. The jewelry is amazing and unique, and the staff is top notch. Jared answered all of my questions and even saved the day when my pearl earring broke on the spot! This is a must-visit when you’re walking down Newbury in Boston. Friendly, knowledgeable, and a love of being helpful — you’ll find it all here. The vintage pieces are gorgeous and many come from generations of folks who’ve lived right there in the neighborhood. The shop has been around for over 40 years!
I have been a loyal customer here for an entire year and have given them so much business. Despite this, they are cold, unfriendly, and passive aggressive. I have continuously waited for the day that they would treat me like a familiar face …
Their jewelry selection is amazing!Unfortunately the repairs were lacking. I brought one of my antique rings to have a stone set in it. I requested a grey pearl but a white one was used, and then the stone fell out in less than two weeks. Paid $50 and still need to take it elsewhere to be fixed.
Excellent service and quality work! My jewelry repair was completed beautifully, the price was very reasonable, and they even polished the piece without me requesting it. Turnaround time was about a week and a half. Highly recommend!
Great service and beautiful selection. We visited Boston from CT and fell in love with a ring that was just slightly too big, so it was quickly resized by their goldsmith and shipped safely to Connecticut. Thank you!
