Situated at 10932 Westminster Ave, this market has served local families and food enthusiasts for years, earning a solid 3.9-star rating from over 360 customer reviews. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Song Hy Market offers a convenient shopping window for both early birds and after-work visitors looking to stock up on Asian groceries and household essentials.

While it may be smaller than some of the larger markets in Orange County, Song Hy Market makes up for it with a well-organized layout and a surprisingly wide selection of products. Shoppers often note that they can spend nearly an hour browsing the aisles without covering everything the store has to offer. From pantry staples and fresh produce to specialty Asian ingredients, the shelves are packed with variety. The market's liquor section, in particular, stands out for its competitively reasonable prices, making it a popular stop for those looking to pick up beverages alongside their grocery haul.

One of the biggest draws at Song Hy Market is its fresh live seafood selection. Customers frequently praise the availability of live crab, live crawfish, and live clams, calling the market their go-to destination for seafood purchases in Garden Grove. Prices are noted to be fair, and the freshness of the live seafood section keeps regulars coming back. While some reviews mention that seafood quality can vary, many loyal shoppers have made this market their primary stop for fresh catches and weekend seafood feasts.

The staff at Song Hy Market are generally described as friendly and helpful, ready to assist customers in locating specific items throughout the store. The shopping experience is complemented by polite cashiers who provide attentive service. It is worth noting that parking in the shared plaza can become limited after mid-morning hours, so arriving earlier in the day is recommended for a smoother visit. The medium-sized lot is shared with other shops in the complex, which contributes to the bustling neighborhood atmosphere.

For Vietnamese-American families, home cooks, and anyone in the Garden Grove area seeking an authentic Asian supermarket experience, Song Hy Market delivers a solid combination of product variety, fresh seafood, and approachable pricing. Nice smaller than others in OC markets. Well organized and plenty of choices to choose from. Parking can be a hassle if you come after 10am since it’s medium size and share it with others stores and shops in a big complex plaza. Staff are nice and helpful when ask for the location of items. The place is abit dark but well lite to see the items. The space can be tight since narrow in some area but people got use to it. Plenty of seafoods both fresh and frozen. They ran out of one of stuff I was shopping for so I have to go to another market. Overall good market to shop.

02-15-23 Glad we came across this supermarket by accident. My husband and I walked around for almost an hour to check out their products. We still had not covered everything, spent over $300 though. Their liquor is especially reasonable price. Liked our cashier. She was polite and helpful, didn’t get her name. Lol Happy shopping y’all!

Sunday Funday part 2 continues with a surf fest and crab fest. Song Hy is my go to supermarket for fresh live crab, live crawfish, and live clams! Can’t go wrong with price, freshness, and availability here. Can’t speak for the rest of the supermarket, but I always do my fresh seafood purchases here for the above mentioned items.

I have been a loyal daily shopper at Song Hy Market, spending thousands of dollars here every month, but today was my last visit. I went to purchase pork chops and was shocked by the poor service. The butcher told me I couldn’t choose the pieces from the middle—only from the top or bottom—and his attitude was downright rude. I even spoke to a young manager with glasses, who I recognize since I shop here every day. He explained this was a rule from the meat department manager. Frankly, that rule makes no sense, and the way it was enforced was disrespectful. I was ready to buy a lot of groceries but ended up putting everything back. A business that treats loyal customers this way doesn’t deserve my time or money. Such a disappointing experience after years of shopping here.

The quality of seafood is sometimes good and sometimes bad. The quality is not guaranteed. I bought a lot of seafood today. After steaming it, I ate a few and threw them all into the trash. I will not go there again.
