Sign in to reviewWas the Wifee's Bday and we were staying In Union Square and had planned to go to a piano bar. After reconsidering wanting to pay a cover and electing something a little more low key with entrainment, we discovered Sool. Only a few blocks from the Hotel, so we walked to and from. Nice small to medium sized venue to has free karaoke every night and the availability to reserve a large private karaoke room for an event. Unsure of the pricing, as we spent our time in the main bar. The Owner, Jin, was behind the bar being a master craftsman and a very pleasant and welcoming force.the drinks and the service were performed with care and there were multiple different meetings to settle in. Bar top chairs, high top tables, an area with legit couches, and coffee table and an area in the back of the bar kind of off itself a little more...good for if you wanted a little more distance from the singers to have easier conversations. Karaoke is easy to sign up for with your phone. Then you can monitor the cue to see how far out your song is. No having to glue your eyes to a ticket tape at the lyric screens or feeling like you are bothering a DJ. Place was pretty full, but I was still able to get a few songs in without have ing to be here all night. (While we did spent almost 3 hours there). Patrons there were pleasant as well, no riff raff. So great for popping in for a short spell and plan to stay all night. If you are looking for something different, then I recommend trying the Soju. Cheers!
Came for an after conference happy hour (week of 7.13.25). Not too shabby. Place is chill. Drinks were great. Food was a la carte. So, please, keep that in mind if there is one bartender serving multiple people (they're doing the best they can). For those wondering, there are V.I.P. karaoke rooms on the 2nd floor. Looked like a grand time if you're looking to house a rowdy crew, and not worry about hitting the highest of notes. Worth a visit if your in the area, or looking for a place to decompress from the matrix. Hope to visit again.
I booked the downstairs bar area at Sool for my birthday, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The venue was the perfect size for my group of ~30 and had an awesome vibe all night long. Their drink selection is great. They had unique soju cocktails and the Korean bar food snacks were delicious and perfect for sharing. Kha and the Sool team made the entire planning and coordinating process incredibly easy. Communication was quick and clear, and the flexibility of the venue was a big plus. They allow outside food and décor as well. My guests and I had an absolute blast. I’d recommend Sool to anyone looking for a fun, affordable, and hassle-free spot for a celebration, private event, or just a night of karaoke!
I came here for a collaborative event with the SF Social Club, and I had a blast. The atmosphere was lively but not too loud, the drinks were super tasty and creative, and the venue was decently sized to accommodate a medium-sized group. It was a great space to mingle and meet new friends, and the karaoke upstairs was the icing on the cake to a fun night.
My friend and I went there, and one of us didn't have ID with us, we went to get it the hotel was nearby, but 15 minutes later, the bartender refused to serve us a cocktail and aggressively told us to leave. A Korean woman behind the bar was shouting, "Get out, I don't want to serve you." Even the waitress came over and didn't understand why the woman was acting that way; we weren't drunk that crazy, we had few drinks before, in normal way and actually I post it straight in 30min after that situation.
