About

Soyful Desserts is listed on FindALoco in San Jose, CA with address, hours, and map location. Common services and related keywords include Bubble Tea Store.

Tucked along Story Road in the heart of San Jose, CA, Soyful Desserts is a unique bubble tea store that has carved out its own niche in a neighborhood already rich with boba options. Rather than competing on the traditional milk tea playbook, this small walk-up window spot specializes in drinkable soy pudding — a creamy, silky twist that blends the comfort of Vietnamese chè with the fun of bubble tea toppings. If you have been looking for something beyond the usual boba experience, Soyful offers a genuinely different take that keeps regulars coming back.

The concept is simple but distinctive. Customers can choose from a menu of soy pudding-based drinks topped with a variety of ingredients, from boba pearls to jellies and other sweet additions. One of the most praised items is the combination drink that brings together chè, silken tofu, and classic bubble tea elements into a single cup. The result is a dessert beverage that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. Many first-time visitors are surprised by how enjoyable the drinkable pudding texture is, especially when paired with a lower sweetness level like 25%, which lets the natural soy flavor come through.

Because Soyful Desserts operates as a walk-up window rather than a full sit-down shop, the experience is quick and casual. There is no indoor seating and typically no long wait, making it a convenient grab-and-go stop during an afternoon errand run through the Story Road corridor. The service is generally described as fast and helpful, with staff ready to guide newcomers through the menu. It is an especially good fit for dessert lovers who appreciate something a little different and do not mind a no-frills setup.

One thing worth noting is the shop's limited weekday hours. Soyful Desserts is closed on Mondays and opens in the afternoon on Tuesdays through Fridays, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, the window opens at noon and stays open until 8:00 PM, giving weekend visitors more flexibility. As with any small, independent business, occasional schedule variations can happen, so checking ahead before making a special trip is a good idea. The extended weekend hours make it a natural stop when exploring the vibrant food scene along Story Road in San Jose.

Overall, Soyful Desserts appeals to adventurous foodies, longtime fans of Vietnamese chè, and anyone curious about what happens when soy pudding meets boba culture. It may not look like much from the outside — just a modest window on a busy stretch of Story Road — but the drinks inside tell a more interesting story. For residents and visitors of San Jose, CA searching for a bubble tea experience that steps outside the ordinary, Soyful is well worth a visit.

Really quick service, have never had drinkable soy pudding before but this was really yummy. 25% sweetness was perfect, only complaint was that I ordered the #8, which does come with a lot of types of toppings, but not a lot of each one. It was like 80% pudding, and I wish it was more 50-50 with the toppings, but still fun to try!

Soyful Desserts is a little slit of a window. There's no walking inside the dessert shop. No line or wait on a Sunday afternoon. Everything tasted OK. There's no boba option until 45 minutes later. Fast and helpful service. My mouth tasted weird after drinking the HK milk tea.

I usually go to the silver creek one but this one is not set up in the same way, rang the bell for almost 10 min before giving up. Not sure how they’re still open with this kind of service since there’s so many other boba shops nearby.

I love their pudding drinks but omg they are the worst business for opening on time or opening at all. Two out of the last three times I went, they were still closed more than an hour past their opening times. I see plenty of other reviews saying the same thing. Please stick to your business hours like a professional business or update them 🤦‍♀️

First time trying these dessert drinks, it was a perfect combo of che and silken tofu and bubble tea. I will definitely be getting one every time I'm in SJ 😁.
