Sign in to reviewOpen on Saturdays 9am-3pm. It was $60 for a regular oil change. Simon (Asian skinny guy with the dyed brown hair) from the defunct 19th Avenue Quality Tune-Up is here. I didn't see any of his old crew also making the move as I used to be a regular at his old shop. He told me most went to other shops or have retired. It was nice to see Simon at least. It took an hour to do the oil change. He called me mid job that my engine and cabin air filters needed replacing. $90 (2 filters $55 and labor $35.) I said yes as I was too lazy to do it myself. It would have have taken too much effort to buy the filters myself and install it. ($22 for the engine and $10 for the cabin filter Amazon prices.) There was a slight mishap as they charged me for a synthetic oil change whereas I only got a regular oil change. The billing mechanic (not Simon) messed up. I caught it on the receipt and they had to refund me $26. Otherwise good job everyone at Sunset 76 Auto Repair. Be sure to check your receipt.
I have been a loyal customer to this shop for about 4 years now. Amazing service every time. Their prices are reasonable, they give honest advice and guidance for work that my car needs and are always respectful. This garage is the best I've patroned in SF, after bad service at so many others. Thank you for always squeezing me in a tight schedule and for consistent work on my vehicle. See you soon
Five stars all the way! I brought my car in thinking I needed new brake pads because of a screeching sound and hitting the mileage threshold, but the team took the time to thoroughly check everything and called me within an hour to explain that my brake pads still had plenty of life left. They didn’t charge me for the inspection and patiently answered all my questions about the noise. Honest, professional, and genuinely pleasant—an outstanding group of gentlemen I highly recommend!
One of the mechanics there caught my truck on fire, and it was totally destroyed. Louise was absolutely no help, and was actually rude and dishonest about it.
I had a very positive experience at Sunset 76 in San Francisco. The owner and team provide professional, honest, and attentive service. I brought my 2013 Honda Civic (about 161,000 miles) in for routine maintenance and a coolant service. They explained everything clearly, took care to do the work properly, and my car now runs quietly and smoothly. I truly appreciate their work and highly recommend this shop. ________________________________________
