Super King Market | Los Angeles is a well-known supermarket in Los Angeles, CA, serving shoppers who want both everyday groceries and a broader international selection in one stop. Located at 2716 N San Fernando Rd, this market has built a strong local reputation, reflected in its 4.4 rating from more than 4,000 reviews. Open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, it is a practical choice for morning grocery runs, after-work shopping, and weekend stock-ups. For many households in Los Angeles, it stands out as a place where variety, convenience, and value come together in a way that fits real day-to-day cooking.
One of the biggest reasons people return to Super King Market | Los Angeles is the range of products available across different cuisines. Customers frequently mention the store’s wide selection of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients, along with European goods and many pantry staples for home cooking. Shoppers looking for couscous, spices, dried fruits, nuts, condiments, or specialty items often appreciate being able to find them alongside standard grocery needs. This makes the store especially useful for thrifty foodies, multicultural families, and anyone in Los Angeles who enjoys cooking meals with diverse flavors without having to visit several separate markets.
Fresh departments are another major draw. Reviews often highlight the quality of the fruits and vegetables, with many shoppers saying the produce section is one of the best reasons to come here. Fresh cold cuts and cheeses also earn positive mentions, and the butcher counter has received praise for helpful service from some customers. At the same time, customer feedback suggests that experiences can vary by department, particularly in the meat area, and some shoppers feel certain packaged or canned goods may be priced higher than at other nearby stores. That kind of mixed detail is useful for setting expectations: many people come here first for fresh produce, international ingredients, dried goods, and selection.
The overall atmosphere at this Los Angeles supermarket is best described as busy, practical, and selection-focused. It works well for families doing a full weekly grocery trip, home cooks planning specific recipes, and shoppers who like browsing aisles for ingredients they do not usually see in standard chain stores. Because it is open every day with consistent hours, it is also convenient for people with changing schedules who need flexibility. Rather than feeling like a small specialty shop, it offers the scale of a large market while still appealing to customers searching for foods tied to different culinary traditions.
For anyone searching for a dependable supermarket in Los Angeles, California, Super King Market | Los Angeles is worth considering for its fresh produce, broad ethnic food selection, and everyday grocery convenience. Whether you are stocking up on basics, searching for Middle Eastern ingredients, picking up fruits and vegetables, or exploring spices, nuts, and dried goods, this market offers a concrete reason to stop by. Sign in to reviewWent there looking for some Mediterranean / middle eastern ingredients like couscous and I wasn’t disappointed !! They have a wide selection of middle eastern products and was so pleased by the service at the butcher counter too. Love this place
I like this store; they have many great products, fruits, and vegetables of good quality. There are also European goods, which is a big plus. But there are some downsides and weak points. For example, the meat department — whenever you pass by it, there is always a disgusting smell, which even spreads to the bakery section with bread and pastries. You really need to do something about it; there is nothing like this in Whole Foods or Vons. Moreover, I don’t know what genius came up with this idea, but you have a sushi fridge in the meat department — that’s a terrible decision to place it there. Since the boxes are not airtight, the sushi just absorbs that smell, and it definitely affects the taste.
Super King is the smart home of the "thrifty foodie." It is a fabulous market!!! They offer a very large variety of ethnic foods at good prices. The produce is great & the dried fruits, nut & spices are seemingly endless. Plus they have have all the standard stuff your need for your home. Go, save money & get everything on your list.
Blatant Disrespect and Discrimination in the Meat Department I am a regular customer of this supermarket, but my visit on New Year's Eve left me deeply disappointed and shocked. I encountered a situation that I can only describe as a display of professional misconduct and clear discrimination. The Incident: I followed the protocol, took a number, and waited my turn. When my number was called, a young employee started fulfilling my order for 3 lbs of ground beef. At that moment, an older Hispanic employee approached, took all the remaining meat my server was bagging, and handed it to another customer (who was also Hispanic), completely bypassing my turn. When I politely asked if there was any meat left for my order, I was told "no." Why this is unacceptable: 1. Queue Jumping & Favoritism: My rights as a customer were completely ignored. It felt as though the older employee prioritized another customer based on a shared language/background, disregarding the person who was actually next in line. 2. Communication Barrier: When I asked in English why she had taken the meat from my order without consulting her colleague, she refused to respond in English, speaking only in Spanish while looking at her coworkers. 3. Discrimination: As an Asian customer, I felt targeted by this behavior. It is unacceptable for staff in a large supermarket to lack basic ethics, respect for their colleagues' workflow, and a professional level of English to address customer concerns. It is heartbreaking to experience such treatment at a store I frequently visit. I expect the management to address the conduct of the meat department staff to ensure that all customers—regardless of their race or language—are treated with equal respect and fairness.
I enjoyed my grocery shopping here. The produce was fresh and they have great prices. There cold cuts and cheeses are fresh and tasty. I would say shop here for all of your produce needs. I find that their condiments and other can goods are pricier than El Super or Superior and even Vons. Great customer service support.
