Sweets & Sourdough is a neighborhood bakery at 2878 Fairfax St, Denver, CO 80207, serving Denver, Colorado, with a focused schedule and a mix of breads, bagels, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. It is open Thursday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed Monday through Wednesday. The business has a 4.8-star rating from 85 reviews, though individual experiences vary. If you are planning a visit, arriving earlier may be sensible: one customer reported that the bakery had sold out of items by 9 a.m. on a Friday. That review also noted that the selection and menu were not clear on arrival, so checking what is available before choosing can help set expectations.

Sourdough is central to the bakery’s appeal. Customers mention loaves, including a Tillamook-infused sourdough, as well as muffins and bread that reviewers describe as very good or fresh. Bagels are another part of the offering, with an everything bagel paired in one popular-sounding order with peppered bacon and roasted garlic and scallion cream cheese. The menu also includes breakfast sandwiches: one reviewer singled out the BAT, made with bacon, arugula, and tomato, as a favorite, while another described ordering a deluxe sandwich. These details offer a useful starting point, but items and availability may change, and reviews do not establish a complete or current menu.

For a simple morning stop, Sweets & Sourdough also serves coffee, including cold brew that one customer found solid. The bakery is in the same location as Yuan Wonton, and a reviewer mentioned an attached Asian restaurant with lunch options and an intriguing Thai tea crème brûlée. This provides additional context for the location, but does not mean every restaurant item is part of the bakery’s own menu. Customers have also mentioned parking nearby. The atmosphere and ordering experience may feel less straightforward for first-time visitors: reviewers say the location can be difficult to find and that the entrance lacks prominent signs or a logo. Allow a little time to locate the storefront, and ask staff about the day’s offerings if the display or menu is unclear.

Sweets & Sourdough may suit Denver residents looking for a weekend breakfast, a bagel and coffee, or a loaf of sourdough to take home. Its Thursday-to-Sunday morning hours make it a planned stop rather than an everyday weekday option. Reviews praise the bread and baked goods, while other customers report concerns about freshness, sandwich ingredients, texture, or how items were packaged. Those different accounts are worth keeping in mind, especially if you have a specific item in mind or are visiting near closing time. The most reliable approach is to visit during the posted hours, confirm availability when you arrive, and choose based on what is freshly offered that day. For anyone searching for a Denver, CO bakery on Fairfax Street, this small bakery’s breads, breakfast choices, and limited weekly schedule are the clearest points to know before stopping by.

This is the best bakery in Denver! I'm so glad they now have a storefront. Their baked goods are divine and fresh, and they have a nice selection to choose from. My fav thing on the menu so far is the BAT (Bacon, arugula, and tomato). I …

Friday at 9AM it’s empty, but they are already sold out of everything. No menu so definitely confusing when you walk in. I got to-go English muffins, but they are undercooked, dense, smushed from the way they are packaged, and not very good.

to be honest, the location is very hard to find. their door doesn’t have any signs / logos to represent who they are. i got the deluxe sandwich with an everything bagel. bagel wasn’t fresh. they advertise it with zhoug - it’s not, it’s pesto. the flavor combo was not good. overall the sandwich was not good. service was good they were friendly but the sandwich took some time to make.

Bakery with very good bread and adequate coffee. There are breakfast items and an interesting lunch menu in the attached Asian restaurant. The Thai Tea Creme Brule is intriguing. …

Toasted Everything Bagel with Peppered Bacon and Roasted Garlic and Scallion Cream Cheese is the way. Solid cold brew, lots of parking around. They have loafs of Tillamook-infused sourdough loafs and muffins for sale. Will be back. Same location as Yuan Wonton
