Sign in to reviewMy first boba This is the first place I tried boba tea. They make a good cup at a reasonable price. Tried their matcha frappioca. Was pleased with a decent strong matcha flavor that has been missing from many of the other boba shops I've tried. Points for that, and a nice fine smoothie ice. Was very happy with this tea. Maybe a tad bit less sweet, but good none the less.
Teapioca feels like a very middle of the pack boba shop. The inside is nice but not as cool as some other shops around. The staff weren’t too friendly but ordering was quick. We got a taro milk tea and mangonada. The taro milk tea was delicious and the right amount of sweet. The mangonada was sweet and had a bit of spice that didn’t sit too well with the rest of the flavor. Altogether, it was an alright experience but we would be open to returning to see if things are different the next time around.
Teapioca Lounge is hands down the best bubble tea spot in Austin. The drinks are fresh, flavorful and made with high quality ingredients that you can really taste in every sip. The menu offers a wonderful variety of options so there is always something new and exciting to try. The shop has a cozy and fun atmosphere that makes it a perfect place to relax and hang out. The staff is always friendly and takes great care in preparing each drink exactly to your liking. Whether you are a bubble tea enthusiast or trying it for the first time, Teapioca Lounge will not disappoint. Absolutely love this place.
No clue what’s happened to the employment here recently, but oh my god.. I found myself repeating my order to the dude at the register countless times. He was either high or had no clue what he was doing. Asked for a tumbler, clarified the specific one I had wanted, and he continued to look in the completely wrong place when the boxes were right in front of him. Husband, who had never even been inside the place, had to clarify the cup was in the white boxes, just like the ones that were on display. Furthermore, they, instead of making my drink iced, they made it blended, so thick that I can’t get anything besides the toppers at the bottom of the cup. Now on a hot summer day I can’t even enjoy my drink. Do better with your employment or training, whatever it is you need to do. As a former barista, I’m appalled.
I ordered the Mango Boba Dane at Tapioca Lounge because the photo clearly showed it topped with mango chunks. However, when I asked why there were no mango pieces, the staff said the owner told them mangoes are not in season and that they were substituting strawberries instead. That makes no sense, since they’re still making mango drinks. A mango drink should come with mango — not something else. They even charged an extra $0.75 for the strawberry topping. Very disappointing and not recommended.
