Tèo Bun Bo Hue is a Vietnamese restaurant in Portland, Oregon, at 8220 SE Harrison St #230, Portland, OR 97216. Its name points to the dish that draws many guests: bún bò Huế, the savory Vietnamese noodle soup that customers describe as the restaurant’s specialty. If you are looking for a place in Portland focused on this distinctive soup, Tèo Bun Bo Hue is a straightforward option to consider. The restaurant is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., giving you the flexibility to stop in for lunch or dinner. It has a 4.4-star rating based on 507 reviews, offering local diners and visitors a substantial set of customer experiences to consider when choosing where to eat.

Bún bò Huế is the main attraction in customer feedback. Guests praise the rich, flavorful broth, generous portions, and plentiful meat, with one visitor saying the soup reminded them of what they had enjoyed in Vietnam. Other reviewers call it a go-to choice when a bún bò Huế craving strikes, and mention fresh noodles, meat, and vegetables. These comments make the restaurant especially relevant for people who already enjoy the dish, as well as anyone curious to try a well-known Vietnamese noodle soup. The hearty serving and range of ingredients described by guests may suit diners seeking a filling, warming meal rather than a light bite.

Reviews also suggest keeping the menu’s focus in mind. Customers describe it as limited, centered on bún bò Huế with beef and chicken pho also available. One review found the pho noodles clumped together and the meat fattier than expected, while another bún bò Huế fan felt the broth could have more depth, particularly in its shrimp flavor. Experiences can differ, so these details are useful context when deciding what to order: the restaurant’s clearest specialty is bún bò Huế, while opinions about broth nuance, pho, and preparation are not uniform. Reading the menu and sharing preferences with your dining companions can help set expectations.

The atmosphere has also received positive mentions. A first-time guest described the restaurant as clean, warm, and inviting, with charming decor, making it a possible fit for a relaxed meal with family or friends. Its location on SE Harrison Street provides a specific destination for Portland residents and visitors exploring Vietnamese food in the area. For travelers passing through the city, one reviewer even noted visiting from Seattle to try this bún bò Huế spot. Whether you are a longtime fan or trying the soup for the first time, Tèo Bun Bo Hue offers a focused local choice, supported by a large body of reviews and daily hours from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

When my first-choice spot closed, this became my go-to place for Bun Bo Hue. It's now my second favorite place to satisfy a BBH craving. The noodles, meat, and vegetables are always fresh, and the broth is good. However, it feels like it's missing a bit more depth and flavor, particularly the shrimp paste notes that I enjoy in a traditional Bun Bo Hue. Prices are slightly higher than the restaurant I usually visit, but the overall experience is pleasant. The restaurant has a large, spacious parking lot, clean restrooms, and friendly staff. Another plus is that they offer a variety of dishes beyond just Bun Bo Hue, giving you other of options to choose from.

I tried to Pho, but it specializes in bun bo huè. So the Pho is very.. starchy. Since I noticed on the bottom all of the noodles are stuck together in a bundle. So I had to dig and separate for 5 minutes. And the meat is very fatty but no meat on the parts. Some of them do but it’s mostly fat near the skin.. looks big but isn’t. And the broth turns into starchy broth with some of the actual broth flavor. Over all just get the Bun Bo huè.

Really good Bun Bo Hue! The portion was huge and packed with so much meat. The broth was rich, flavorful, and tasted very authentic — honestly reminded me of the Bun Bo Hue I had back in Vietnam. You can tell they don’t hold back on ingredients and the quality was great overall. Definitely a satisfying meal and a spot I would come back to again when craving authentic Vietnamese food.

Visiting from Seattle, I was really looking forward to trying this Portland spot that specializes in bún bò Huế. Since the menu is very limited, with basically bún bò Huế plus beef and chicken pho, I expected the main dish to be well …

A Must-Try for BBH Lovers! Tried this restaurant for the first time, and I have to say, it’s hands down the best Bún Bò Huế I’ve had in Oregon! From the moment we walked in, it was a great experience. The restaurant is clean, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the decor is charming without being over the top. Service was attentive and thoughtful. The owner even noticed I had a baby with me and kindly offered hot water, such a sweet and considerate gesture! Although there was a mix-up with our order and a small error on the check, the staff handled it with kindness and professionalism, quickly resolving everything without hesitation. Now onto the BBH and the chicken pho, the food is absolutely delicious! Flavorful broth, generous portion, and it came with a large plate of fresh vegetables, including dried banana blossom (my favorite!). You can really tell they care about the quality and authenticity of the dish. Highly recommend this spot, a hidden gem and a must-try if you're a fan of BBH!
