Thai Cam Video & Food Store is an Asian grocery store in Portland, Oregon, at 5230 SE Foster Rd, Portland, OR 97206. It is a neighborhood option for shoppers looking for Thai and Southeast Asian ingredients, including fresh produce and pantry staples that can be difficult to find at larger or more general grocery stores. Customer reviews describe a small, friendly shop with a useful selection and reasonable prices. Its 4.7-star rating from 23 reviews reflects a positive local response, while individual experiences and product availability may vary.

The store’s most distinctive appeal is its Thai vegetables and specialty ingredients. Shoppers mention fresh galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves, along with other Thai vegetables and less familiar produce. The selection includes both recognizable ingredients and more unusual finds, making the shop worth exploring for cooks who want to prepare Southeast Asian dishes at home. Availability can change, so a particular vegetable or ingredient may not be in stock on every visit.

For everyday cooking, customers also point to noodles, rice, spices, sauces, and canned goods. These pantry basics can help round out a meal or replenish ingredients for Thai and other Southeast Asian recipes. Reviews highlight that some products are hard to find elsewhere in Oregon, which may make Thai Cam especially useful when a recipe calls for a specific herb, vegetable, or condiment. One reviewer has reported finding out-of-date canned goods, so it is sensible to check package dates as you shop.

The atmosphere is described as a lovely little, friendly, and well-organized neighborhood store, though another customer found the space cluttered. A reviewer also appreciated the owner’s advice about how specialty Asian vegetables are used. That personal guidance can be helpful if you are trying an unfamiliar ingredient or need ideas for how it fits into a dish. The shop may suit home cooks seeking specific Thai groceries, curious shoppers interested in exploring new produce, and nearby residents who value a small local source for Southeast Asian staples.

Thai Cam Video & Food Store is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you are planning a trip for a particular fresh item, consider calling or checking in advance if possible, since the reviews do not guarantee daily availability. For Portland shoppers, especially in the SE Foster Road area, it offers a practical place to look for Thai produce, herbs, noodles, rice, spices, and sauces in a compact neighborhood setting.

This is a great little SE Asian grocery. Nice produce - some familiar and some really obscure. Noodles, rice spices, sauces - all of that. Friendly owner lady can give advice on what the Asian specialty veg is for. Very cool to have in the neighborhood

Weird, cluttered and some of their canned goods are out of date. But they have fresh galangal, lemongrass and keffir lime leaves and a slew of other products you won't find outside of Fubonn or Hong Phat
