Thai Mint is a Thai restaurant on South Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana, at 1438 S Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, LA 70118. For people looking for a flavorful lunch in the city, it is a neighborhood spot praised by diners for consistent food, attentive service, and a comfortable setting. Customer feedback describes a cozy atmosphere and a meal experience that can suit a regular weekly visit as well as a first-time lunch. Thai Mint holds a 4.5-star rating from 261 reviews, reflecting many guests’ positive experiences while leaving room for every diner to form their own impression.

Lunch is a particular draw, with weekday hours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Reviewers mention that lunch plates come with soup and an egg roll, and some describe a cup of soup with a vegetable roll as a satisfying start. The soup earns specific praise for its deep, flavorful character. Guests have also noted that tables may fill quickly, so the room can become lively during a busy meal period. Saturday service is listed from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.; the restaurant is closed Sunday. Check the current hours before making a special trip, as schedules can change.

Standout dishes mentioned by customers include Chicken Massaman curry, Mussaman Curry, Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, red curry, Tom Yum soup, Thai fried rice, and fried tilapia with vegetables. Diners describe the Massaman-style curry as rich in flavor and, in one review, not spicy, while Pad Thai is described as flavorful with a moderate kick. Spice preferences vary, so guests who are sensitive to heat may want to ask about preparation. One reviewer also calls out the house-made chili oil. These customer favorites offer a useful starting point for exploring the menu, without suggesting that every dish will suit every palate.

The combination of satisfying lunch portions, consistent flavors, and friendly service makes Thai Mint a promising choice for nearby workers, students, residents, and anyone meeting friends for a casual meal. Reviewers particularly value the food’s quality for the price and say the restaurant is accommodating for gluten-free diners; guests with dietary needs should confirm ingredients and preparation directly with the staff. Whether stopping in for curry and soup at lunch or visiting on Saturday evening, diners can expect a relaxed Thai meal at a locally loved New Orleans address. Its established following and range of familiar Thai favorites make it worth considering when searching for a Thai restaurant in the area.

This is my weekly lunch spot. Can’t beat the price and what you get. Gluten-free friendly. For me, they never miss on taste and consistency. Never had a bad meal here. Chicken Massaman curry is 😍😛 (photo shown is the dinner version).

Great lunch today the service was fantastic. Starters were the cup of soup with a veggie roll. The soup was super flavorful. We then had the Mussaman Curry which has a wonderful flavor not spicy at all. Also ordered the Pad Thai that also had a wonderful flavor but a bit more spicy but not overpowering. It was a great lunch and would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. We’ll definitely dine here again next trip to NOLA.

First timer. Had lunch. Pad Thai, Fried Tilapia and vegetables, and Thai fried rice, all dishes were good. Service was excellent. Lunch plate was served with soup and egg roll. Both were good as well. The overall experience was good.

Unbelievably good. Service was excellent. The food was wonderful. There were plenty of tables available when we got there but it filled up fast Tom yum soup was so flavorful as were the Pad Kee Mao and the red curry. They make their own chili oil and it can't be beat. Presentation was beautiful.
