I went here when they opened at 6am and saw fresh baked trays of Chinese pastries being pulled out of the oven (bolo bao with red bean filling, hot dog buns, char siu baos, and more). Everything was hot, freshly made, and delicious. Four big buns for $8.50 is an amazing deal. They also accept Zelle and Venmo, which is super convenient if you don’t have cash on hand. Plenty of parking too. Definitely worth supporting this spot, especially after the tragic accident involving one of the owners last year.

I came here to show my support for locally owned family businesses. Businesses in this plaza keeps getting broken into. The food here is OK. I got the lotus leave chicken, a small porridge and a Chinese donut for $12. It was past 1pm and some of the stuff were no longer available. The cashier had to scrape the bottom of the pot to fill up 80% of a small container of porridge. Regardless, I hope they do well and stay in Oakland.

Nostalgic and consistently serving great shumai and hargow. The pork buns are massive and delicious, I have yet to go anywhere else that has such fluffy dough with amazing filling.

I was really disappointed with this place. The staff were very unfriendly and made us feel uncomfortable the entire time. Instead of being welcoming, they seemed to watch and hover over customers, which felt invasive and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the pastries were just as disappointing. They tasted stale and unpleasant, nothing like what you’d expect from a bakery. To make matters worse, several members of my family felt sick afterward, and we believe it may have been related to the food we ate here. Overall, this was a stressful and unpleasant experience. Between the poor customer service and the quality of the food, we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Don't go here at 6am. They're not open. We were on our way to the Oakland to catch a flight. We were hoping not to pay airport pricing food. We were knocking on the door at 6:10am. They just look at us...we left😡
