I really enjoyed everything about The General Muir. We had brunch/lunch. When I go to restaurants I like to try items that have a twist to it. For an appetizer we had the heavenly eggs lol they were good! I had the fish and potatoes which was latkes over a bed of hash browns with a creamy cheese mixture topped with apple sticks. Very good! The Piled High Pastrami was everything. Flavorful, tender and the bread was thick and soft. The fries were fine nothing to extravagant just good fries. We opted for mocktails, I can't remember the name of the mocktails but the bartender made them to our specific taste...I like sweet drinks. Overall wonderful restaurant. Parking was easy enough but it was a rainy Saturday so it may be difficult at night. Our waitress was attentive and provided good details regarding food choices. The atmosphere is laid back and kid friendly.
Came here for a late lunch and sat at the bar. Very friendly and attentive service. To drink I got a chocolate egg cream; which in my opinion could have used more seltzer water, but that’s just me. Still a good drink! For lunch I got the matzoh ball soup with pastrami and a Reuben sandwich with a side of cole slaw. Wow. The soup broth included dill which was unexpected but super tasty. Sandwich was excellent, too. Overall really great experience and can’t wait to go back.
⭐ Deceptive Parking • Excellent Mulligatawny • Friendly Staff The Mulligatawny soup was excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. The Matzoh Ball Soup didn’t do much for me. If you just want a light broth with a matzoh ball, you may enjoy it, but personally I wouldn’t recommend it. The parking system is extremely deceptive. You’re told restaurant customers get 3 hours of free parking, which is technically true. But you’re required to register through an app, forced to enter a credit card, and then manually press “End” when you leave. If you forget to press that button, you WILL be charged even though you already left. That’s the part that feels like a trap. Most people are not used to opening an app and pressing a button when they leave a parking space. If the parking is free for 3 hours, the session should simply end after 3 hours instead of continuing to charge your card. Decent soup, but customers need to be clearly warned and should be re-warned again when leaving if you’re going to be a part of this shady system of parking. It’s very odd.
First visit today - 5pm on a Thursday. No wait. Maria took great care of us and went above and beyond handling food allergy questions and concerns. The food was crazy good. There’s a reason this place is in the Michelin Guide. We had …
More of this review is for myself not restaurant because i been here 3×s in a few yrs & keep forgetting & dont see a review i made so keep coming back. They doNOT have Gluten-free bagels. I asked for GF menu =none either. Which is ok. I love Jewish breakfast places and keep forgetting they dont have GF bagels/bread. But they do make their bagela and meats in house. I ordered the pastrami hash w/eggs and it was meh. Really have any bold or tasty flavors to it. Just very bland. Hot coco w/oat milk was good. I waited a very very very long time for server to circle back around to check out. So long that other servers were coming to my table. Then atthe end i just said i need to go and another server brought me the ck. Free parking for 3 hrs across the bldg. Everyone was pleasant. Very very nice cute spot just not for me. Unless they one day come out w/GF bagels then ill think about it. Note for customer. No gluten-free and No pork.
