Tong Sake House

Takeout order: rice bowls and kimchi. Both dishes were just ok. My partner was not impressed with the quality of his food for the price. I found the japche rather bland like most of the other ingredients in my rice bowl. However, the beef in both bowls was flavorful. And our order of kimchi provided plenty of heat as we were not expecting it to be as spicy as it was. The customer service was good and appreciated.

Update: Went back with a friend for lunch and got their spicy tonkatsu ramen and bulgulgi bowl combo again. Price was increased to $19.99 now. I had the big bowl of ramen for lunch and took the bulgulgi rice bowl home for my dinner later that night. The spicy tonkatsu was really good. It wasn't too spicy and had a very rich creamy tonkatsu broth. Very yummy! The tonkotsu ramen and bulgulgi bowl combo consists of a full size bowl of ramen and a small bowl of rice with bulgulgi. The ramen was ok but service was great. Very friendly staff and our waitress was so attentive. She's friendly and took care of our party.

We normally really enjoy this restaurant and the food is usually very good. However, today was a bit disappointing. We ordered two sets the tuna bowl and poke bowl with tonkatsu ramen as part of the dinner special, and the rice in both bowls was very hard and crunchy. When we mentioned this to the staff, we were told that the rice may have come from the bottom of the pot and had been reheated. At first, the problem was not fixed, and we were only asked if we wanted to throw the rice away, which was unfortunate. We were disappointed to be told to just throw it away instead of being offered a solution. Later, the staff came back and offered either ice cream or a 10% discount, which we appreciated and chose the discount. Our main disappointment today was with the service from the server, not the food or the chef. We still like this restaurant, but the way issues are handled can be improved in the future.

First time trying Tong Sake House. I wanted some ramen but my wife is not a huge ramen fan, so we thought we'd give them a shot. We're glad we did! My Tonkotsu ramen was good but not great. I added the egg, which was perfectly done. Very good broth, but the pork was not as tender as it could have been. The noodles were just right. My wife tried the Shrimp Teriyaki bento box. Outstanding! Perfectly prepared shrimp, nicely flavored. She ate all of her gyoza before I could get a bite, but she said they were tasty. Miso soup was good... not too salty, which sometimes happens. She had a draft beer and I had hot house sake. They also have a bar, but I don't know how extensive. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

By far the best spot in the area for an incredible lunch or dinner combo. Amazing, I repeat, AMAZING food and incredible staff. You can tell everything is fresh and hand made. 13/10 would recommend.
