Located in the Mission District at 1146 Valencia St, U Save Plumbing & Hardware is a longtime plumbing supply store serving San Francisco, CA. For homeowners, landlords, contractors, and hands-on DIY shoppers, this neighborhood store is known as a practical place to look for plumbing, heating, electrical, and hardware essentials without making a big-box run. Its Valencia Street location makes it especially convenient for nearby residents who need to pick up parts for repair jobs, maintenance work, or remodeling projects during the business week.

What stands out about U Save Plumbing & Hardware is the range of everyday project supplies customers mention finding here, from copper and ABS plumbing parts to larger-ticket items such as water heaters, home heaters, and electrical components. Some local shoppers specifically note that prices can compare favorably with larger chain retailers, which makes the store worth checking when cost matters as much as convenience. For bathroom remodels and repair work, it appears to be a useful stop for people who already know what they need, as well as for those hoping to locate harder-to-find parts that may not be as easy to spot elsewhere.

The shopping experience seems to depend on the visit and the task at hand. Some customers describe getting the exact part they needed and appreciate being able to return unused items for credit, which can be helpful when a project changes midstream. Others mention less consistent service, particularly by phone, so U Save Plumbing & Hardware may be best suited to customers who prefer stopping in directly and browsing the shelves in person. That kind of walk-in approach can work well for experienced property owners, tradespeople, and DIY renovators who want to compare parts, check availability themselves, and get in and out quickly.

For local searchers looking for a plumbing supply store in San Francisco, CA, U Save Plumbing & Hardware fills an important neighborhood role: a weekday source for core repair and installation materials in a central part of the city. The store is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and closed on weekends, so planning ahead helps. If you are tackling a bathroom update, replacing plumbing lines, sourcing heater-related supplies, or picking up electrical parts in San Francisco, this is the kind of established local shop many residents keep in mind when they want a straightforward, close-to-home option.

This is a great local plumbing, heating and electrical supply shop that I have been going to for decades. Their prices usually beat Home Depot and Lowes. Especially if you are buying a water heater, or a home heater, or electrical parts. The copper and ABS plumbing parts were almost half the cost ! The guys there are very knowledgeable and helpful. This shop is more suited for professionals who already know what they are doing and what they need, than for homeowners. When it comes to plumbing and electrical work it is best to hire a pro anyway ;-) Hot tip, park around the back on San Jose ave and they can bring stuff out the back for you.

Called and asked if they had smoke detectors. I was a 6 minute walk away, and I arrived and found the alarms while still on hold. While in the store, they didn't even come back to answer the question, they hung up the phone. Horrible customer service! And they don't even know what they carry!

They don’t answer phone. ever. So warranties useless.

Had good luck recently finding plumbing supplies for a bathroom remodel. I've had them just point to a wall, but also had them pick out the part for me. They took back what I didn't use for a full credit too. But their stated refund policy was short, like 15-days I think. They have parts that HD doesn't and I like being able to get in and out quickly if you know what you're looking for. Hope they can survive against the big chains.
