Vietnam Restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant at 221 N 11th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. For visitors exploring the city or looking for a nearby meal, its location can be a practical reason to stop in: one customer visiting Philadelphia for a few days reported finding the restaurant after getting off at the Philadelphia Bus Station and walking about five minutes. The restaurant has a 4.5-star rating from 717 reviews, offering local diners and travelers a substantial collection of customer feedback to consider. Customer reviews point to pho and vermicelli dishes as popular choices. Diners describe the pho as tasty and the vermicelli meals as filling, making them appealing options for a satisfying lunch or dinner. Reviews also praise the flavor and tenderness of the meat, with customers mentioning pork and steak dishes and generous meat portions. Vietnamese iced coffee is another item a reviewer enjoyed alongside a meal. These details make Vietnam Restaurant worth considering for people seeking familiar Vietnamese comfort food, a noodle-based meal, or a chance to try several kinds of Vietnamese dishes.

Experiences are not entirely uniform, and the reviews give a more useful picture when read together. Several customers describe enjoyable, flavorful meals and say the food was filling or offered good value. Others report that some visits were merely average, and one reviewer was disappointed with the beef pho and pork clay pot. A customer also noted that a meat dish came with pickled carrot and radish but few other accompaniments, and felt the portion did not fully match a price of around $20. Preferences and individual visits differ, so these comments can help set expectations rather than promise a particular experience.

The restaurant may suit couples, visitors passing through Center City, and anyone wanting pho, vermicelli, meat dishes, or Vietnamese iced coffee in Philadelphia. One couple visiting for a short stay found it convenient for an unplanned lunch, while another reviewer recommended the pho and vermicelli as tasty and filling. If you are choosing between dishes, customer feedback suggests the vermicelli and meat options have pleased some diners, while opinions on the pho and pork clay pot vary. Vietnam Restaurant’s reviews offer practical guidance, but the best choice depends on your tastes and what is available when you visit.

Food was great. We had pho and vermicelli dishes and they were all tasty and filling. The price is affordable for what you get. Recommended, yes.

My husband and I came to Philadelphia for just three days. After getting off the bus at Philadelphia Bus Station, we walked for about five minutes, spotted this Vietnamese restaurant, checked the reviews, and immediately decided to stop for lunch. It was exactly what we needed! We absolutely love pho, and honestly, that was the main reason we came in. We were very pleasantly surprised: for a great price, we got two enormous bowls of soup, a lovely atmosphere, and excellent service. We enjoyed it so much that we came back at the end of our trip and ordered the same beef noodle soup again. The presentation was beautiful, the flavor was perfect, and the service was outstanding both times. We wish this restaurant continued success and many more guests. We’ll definitely visit again the next time we’re in Philadelphia. It was a wonderful experience!

Great flavor meats, super tender with good meat portions. Ice coffee as well. Just fyi, the meat dishes (pork, steak) were just meat and a handful of pickled carrots and radish. Hoping for some more food items while paying around $20 more or less for the dish.

I've been to this place several times over the years. Except for the great impression during my first time there, the remaining visits were always good, maybe not amazing. However, when I came back today, it felt like the very first time …

I wanted to like this place. Maybe it’s because I went at an odd time, around 4p, when the kitchen might have been closed until dinner and they had the dishwasher cooking. The beef pho was just average. Wasn’t even better than average, just average. On the contrary, the pork clay pot was terrible. It wasn’t rancid or anything unsanitary, it was just lean pork meat, probably tenderloin, and not pork belly. It was overcooked and tough, which what happens when lean meat is overcooked. It was also not stewed because the broth was just soy sauce with too much sugar. The only thing clay pot about it was how it was served. See the picture, how the muscle fibers tighten leading to meat that is curled? That’s overcooked lean meat. It was not worth going all the way out there. A wasted meal.
