I always have a great experience at village baking co- but this staff member ruined that. Very rude and cold to me..just to then give the guy behind me the same treatment. Village Baking Co would be 5 stars if it weren’t for this employee.

Village Baking Co. (Irving, TX): A Flaky, Buttery Masterpiece (★★★★★) Village Baking Co. is not just a bakery; it’s a destination. After my first visit to the Irving location, I can confidently say this is the gold standard for French-inspired pastries in the DFW area. Every single bite here confirms their mission: transforming simple ingredients with passion and artisanal skill into something truly magnificent. This place deserves every one of its five stars. What sets Village Baking Co. apart is the absolute freshness and quality. You can taste the dedication in their signature laminated dough. The classic butter croissant is pure perfection—crispy, golden layers on the outside that shatter beautifully, yielding to a light, airy, and buttery interior. It is, without a doubt, the flakiest croissant I have ever had. Beyond the classics, their innovation shines through. I tried the Seasonal Fruit Kouign Amann, and it was a revelation. This isn't just a pastry; it’s an experience. The caramelized, crunchy crust gave way to tender, sweet dough, with a tart burst of seasonal fruit cutting through the richness perfectly. Their clever twists on classics, like the Laminated Brioche or the savory Bacon, Cheddar, and Jalapeño Croissant, ensure there’s always something exciting and new to try. The charming, cozy atmosphere completes the visit, making it the perfect spot for a morning coffee or an afternoon indulgence. The staff are warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about their craft. Village Baking Co. doesn't just bake; they elevate the everyday into an art form. It's a true boulangerie that brings a taste of Paris right here to Irving. If you value quality, flavor, and fresh ingredients, make this your next stop—you will become a regular.

The pistachio tart is awesome. Rich, balanced, and clearly made with care. Bread and pastries across the board are strong, and the place has a lovely neighborhood feel. Prices are definitely high, like special-occasion high, but when you want a proper treat, it delivers.

I walked in for my first time and was greeted but while looking around was never asked if I needed help or had any questions. The 2 staff members continued their personal conversation the entire time I was there which I find to be very unprofessional. Even while I am placing my order they continued their conversation and continued to do so all the way until I left. Although service was polite and smiling it wasn't personal and appeared to give little attention to the customer. I bought a ham and cheese baguette and it definitely needed more butter. I couldn't even taste it. The sandwiches are pre made and in my opinion this decreases the quality and freshness of the sandwich. I wouldn't get this again. I purchased a Chocolate kouign amann and this was divine. It was buttered perfectly, the chocolate was spot on and the pastry was flaky and very fresh. Absolutely loved it. Finally I bought a raspberry financier and this was also excellent. It was very soft and moist and the fruit tasted fresh.

Cute shop, but what you see advertised for the breakfast egg sandwich is very different than what you get for just under $10 for a breakfast sandwich. Croissant was good.
