Wellspring Pharmacy is a neighborhood pharmacy on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland, California, at 4184 Piedmont Ave C, Oakland, CA 94611. It is a nearby option for people looking to fill prescriptions without automatically turning to a national chain. Customer accounts center on prescription pickup, medication questions, and updates when an order needs attention. For Oakland residents managing ongoing prescriptions, its Piedmont Avenue setting gives the pharmacy a practical, everyday role within the neighborhood. The address may be especially convenient for neighbors on or near Piedmont Avenue.

Prescription service is the main focus at Wellspring Pharmacy. In customer reviews, several long-time patients describe the pharmacy as responsive and reliable, and say questions about medications were answered clearly and concisely. One reviewer appreciated receiving a call when a prescription needed attention, while another contrasted the experience favorably with long waits at a chain pharmacy. A customer who found a lower price for one prescription elsewhere still chose to keep six prescriptions here. These accounts illustrate why some patients value direct communication and the more personal scale of a smaller pharmacy.

Feedback is mixed, however, and that context matters when selecting a pharmacy for important healthcare needs. Wellspring Pharmacy has a 2.8 rating from 38 reviews. The rating reflects a range of experiences rather than a single consistent pattern. Some customers report unfriendly or unhelpful interactions, no proactive contact after prescriptions were sent, or disappointment when a needed item was not stocked. Experiences can differ by situation, so calling ahead to check the status of a prescription, confirm availability, or ask about a specific concern can be sensible before making a time-sensitive trip.

Wellspring Pharmacy is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It is closed Saturday and Sunday. Its weekday schedule may be convenient for nearby Oakland patients who can arrange pickups during business hours. The location may suit people handling recurring medication needs, following up on a prescription already sent by a provider, or searching for a pharmacy close to Piedmont Avenue. Confirming pickup timing before visiting can help make the visit more efficient.

For those seeking a local pharmacy in Oakland, CA, Wellspring Pharmacy is a smaller neighborhood option centered on prescriptions and patient communication. It may appeal to people who prefer a local business over a larger chain and value a convenient Piedmont Avenue address. As with any pharmacy, medication availability, price, and timing depend on individual needs and are worth confirming directly. It is best considered with your own prescription requirements in mind. The range of customer experiences makes that simple step especially useful. Planning ahead can help you decide whether this Oakland pharmacy fits your routine.

I had a very disappointing experience at this pharmacy. The customer service was poor, and the staff were rude and unfriendly. I came to pick up my prescription, but the way they treated me was disrespectful. They handed me my prescription as if they were giving it to me for free, even though I paid for it. I expected professional and respectful service, but unfortunately that was not my experience here.

I've found them to be very helpful; I once forgot my wallet, and they allowed me to just pay when I came in the next month. Unlike Walgreens, you don't have to wait for 20-30 minutes, and here they actually make sure to call you if there is an issue with the prescription. I'm not sure why there are any bad reviews. This is more personal service than the big chains.

Originally I chose to work with a smaller pharmacy for the same reasons some of the other people who has patronized this place. I wanted to support a small local business. This was some of the most unhelpful staff I've ever interacted with. They didn’t even think to call me when they didn’t carry the medication I needed the most. They called one pharmacy to see if they carried it and then gave up. I’ve been waking up from cough attacks for 5 days now. I called them multiple times since they opened and I am traveling to Colorado today. Was told the medication was going to be in. I get a call apparently minutes before they are closing saying it didn't came. I asked if I can transfer my prescription and they told me they were closing in a few minutes. I asked if she could help transfer and she just said "no" with zero explanation. Why would you wait this long to tell someone this??? They are also closed for the rest of the weekend. I just modified this from 3 stars to 1. I would give this a zero if I could.

Been using them since they opened. Responsive and reliable. My only issue was that for one of my seven prescriptions they could not match the price i could get elsewhere, so i moved that one prescription and left the other six with them. Questions about any of my medications were clearly and concisely answered. Vaccinations also went smoothly for both my daughter and me.

I started going to Wellspring after waiting in the long lines at CVS, expecting to get better service and closer attention to detail. I could not have been more wrong. A prescription that was sent to them on Sunday (granted they are not open sundays) went without any reach out to me on Monday. I called on Tuesday and was told they don't have it and they would get it the next day and call me. On Wednesday, I received no call and when I called over and over starting at 4:15pm (they close at 4:30) no one answered. I called today (Thursday, 4 days after they received this prescription) I was told oh ya it's here do you want to come get it? No one called me and when I asked why no one answered the phone was told they left early. I am so disappointed in this business. Why would you tell me you will follow through on something then just drop the ball and call it a day early? I was then asked if I wanted to have a note put in my file that I want to be notified a prescription is ready. How else would I know this if not by them telling me? I am supposed to guess? Needless to say I will be going back to the CVS line. At least there they text me and I can log in to see what stage they are at. Won't be just ignored for 4 days while I just wait to see if they care to let me know what is going on. I would have had the prescription sent to CVS on Tuesday if I had known they would flake. People go to small businesses for better care, this is not one of them that cares.
