Sign in to reviewMy visit to Y-Linh Sandwiches in San Jose was a great stop for authentic Vietnamese banh mi. The shop has a small and casual atmosphere, mostly focused on takeout, but the quality of the food really stands out. I ordered a grilled pork banh mi, and it was very satisfying. The bread was light and crispy on the outside while still soft inside, which made every bite enjoyable. The sandwich was filled with flavorful marinated pork, fresh pickled vegetables, cucumber, cilantro, and a savory house sauce that balanced everything nicely. The mix of textures and flavors felt very authentic and fresh. The menu also offers several other options like combination banh mi, pork belly, grilled chicken, and vegetarian sandwiches, so there are plenty of choices depending on what you like. Overall, Y-Linh Sandwiches is a great place for a quick and tasty Vietnamese meal. With fresh ingredients, good prices, and classic street-food flavors, it’s definitely worth visiting if you’re craving banh mi in San Jose.
Nothing special for me. Sandwiches were average. But the wait time was very long considering we were the only costumers. I do appreciate their roster path bahn mi because it’s unique, but it wasn’t as tasty as the fried pork or chicken. It’s pretty divey both inside and the parking lot too.
This is a new outlet inside Sun Plaza a Vietnamese strip mall. I think the draw is their baguette which had crispy crust outside and soft inside. There are several bahn mi sandwiches to choose from. They were just okay in quality. A couple of the meat BBQ sandwiches are more expensive than other places. I would stick to buying the baguette alone.
Must have been short staff. Took like 30 min to get my 2 sandwich and it wasnt that busy. They even messed up on my order and had to track me down at another shop. Overall the bread is good. I like the chewiness but the filling will depend on what you order. I order the crispy pork but it was tasteless. Only had the crispy pork and some cucumber slice. No sauce or flavor really. The steam pork was better flavor but they don't seem to offer much filling as you can see from the photo. If youre craving Vietnamese sandwich you should try Huong lan or kim sandwich which is a couple block away. They give you more flavor and filling but the bread isn't as chewy and airy.
2024-Getting skimpy on the meat. Bread is very dry 2021-Their buy 2, get 1 free deal on baguettes ($1.50) and sandwiches ($5.50) is really good and very rare in the area. Bánh mì is above average although a bit skimpy on the meat. Baguette is made on premises and really good, light and crispy. For the price, it's not worth it to buy just 1 and they know it but overall value is good with the special 3 for 2 deal.
