This review is written based on 100+ visits to the Asian Buffet, a Chinese American eatery located on the Denton Highway in Watauga, TX. The service is incredible, they keep your drinks full, table clear. The Buffet is well stocked with the best Asian all you can eat Sushi, Seafoods, Chicken, Beef, and an excellent Hibachi grill that serves up the best flavors of the east. This is by far the best Asian Buffet between Anchorage, Alaska to Los Angeles, California, over to Miami, Florida that I have sat down for a meal. Price is fair, the facilities are clean, the atmosphere is pleasant. Highly recommended!!

It was all great until I started eating. I am a veteran of Asian food and at 64 years old I've probably eaten at hundreds of different restaurants and buffets. This was the worst of my lifetime. Everything was rubbery, or tough, or too old, and they were very few items that were actually mildly enjoyable. If you know me you know I don't slam places. But if you have any experience with enjoying Asian food it is my duty to report that you should probably steer clear of this place.

I am very upset with the operation of this buffet. I have expressed my understanding to them many times and have always supported them. After COVID, my family and I always went and supported their work during difficult times. But unfortunately, the work of this buffet has deteriorated even in the best of times. I come especially in the evening and pay a higher price because I don't eat meat, I only eat seafood. Unfortunately, the quality of the fried crab has decreased so much that they taste now more like leftovers fried in hot oil, not for the first time. They only bring out fried calamari on weekends. Empty trays with leftovers often sit for a long time. When I asked for refill, they told me I could take the leftovers. And they want payment according to the price list, despite the poor quality of the food and poor service. I am very upset with this buffet and will go to another one. I wish they would improve their service and treat the people who always support them better than they do now.

The food selection is okay. Not great, somewhere in the middle. I would say the pricing is very good for the selection. You should also take note that any drinks are separate from the amount for the buffet. I think soft drinks are $3. Service is good. We are seated quickly. Our waitress was great. I wouldn't say the atmosphere is bad. It's just a buffet. There's really not much of an atmosphere. Would I recommend this place? Yes and no. I think for the price it's actually a good deal. I think if you want a large selection probably should go elsewhere though again because of the price. I think it does a good job with what they do offer. Some of the food tasted great. Some of it was bland. I didn't find any food that was cold. It was warm and from what I saw they did at a job of replacing anything that needed fresh stock. Overall, is it the best Chinese buffet or Asian buffet? No, I would say somewhere in the middle, decent a good place for lunch or dinner, but certainly not something I would say Just stands out from the crowd. I think the pricing is why I rate it a four out of five, when you compare other places and what they charge for lunch and dinner, I think this establishment prices it really well for its selection of food.
