Good To Eat

Classic and innovative Taiwanese dishes, flavors are solid. Quite busy, service leans on the slow side, prices on the high side for the amount of food you get (i.e. $22 for one eggplant). Those factors combined make this a difficult spot for repeat visits

A stunning little gem! The decor inside and out is gorgeous, you can tell someone really put their heart into it. Staff are super friendly too. We sat at the bar and noticed the servers seemed to know every single group that came in. At first we figured they were all friends, but seems turns out everyone just loves this place that much. The fried chicken cutlet was great, but the dipping sauce was the real star, it had this tingly, numbing kick that tasted so fresh and natural, like straight-up green Sichuan peppercorn juice. Dessert was solid too. The only miss for us was the Spicy Noodle, the noodles were on the thick and firm side, and the flavor fell a bit flat.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Very impressive night, we will definitely come back soon.

The food is delicious, but the owner of the restaurant is incredibly dismissive and prices are excessive for the portions. We ordered the sweet potato fries, which are $14, and the layer on top were normal-sized fries, while the bottom layer was filled with fries that were half the size and scrappy. It was not just the very bottom, but close to half of the fries that looked like leftovers. We politely voiced our complaint and our waiter said she would bring the owner to speak to us. When she arrived after a long wait, she was incredibly dismissive and tried to gaslight us, saying that some people like small fries. We explained that what they gave were essentially a layer of regular fries, and a layer of scraps underneath. She continued to fight back and refused to acknowledge the issue. In the end, she didn’t offer to compensate anything, and instead asked if she could get us anything else. This was a very disappointing experience and makes us not want to return for a while.

A very neat and charming spot with courteous and friendly staff. The food is amazingly delicious, and the menu is genuinely exciting with creative and flavorful choices. Highly recommended!

Went here with a friend, or at least only a friend when the night started… Good To Eat was good but imperfect in a few ways. To focus on the positives: the fried tofu block with Tàishi Pàocài was perfection. What I imagine little drops of heaven taste like 🥰. The eggplant noodles were good, we had mixed opinions on the noodles—very good or slightly under cooked depending on who you ask; the eggplant had a unique flavor profile that was unexpected and eggplant lovers will love 🍆🤤. It ended up being a fun night 😉 One less pleasant part of the experience was the wait time and lack of reservation system for small parties. We waited about 10 min to check in, then waited in the back for 15 min, then finally got to our table and only ordered 5 min later. The food came out in only 10 min, but gosh I felt like I was a freight train 🚂 being schleped around like that.
