Tao Rice Roll Plano

Just got back from a solid morning run to Tao Rice Roll and I’m still thinking about how good it was. A couple months ago my wife and I spent time in Taiwan and fell hard for the real-deal Taiwanese breakfast scene—those sticky rice rolls, flaky sesame pancakes, hot salty soy milk, the works. Ever since we got home we’ve been hunting for something that comes close, so we Googled around and landed on this spot. Huge win that they open at 7 am. That early start is perfect when you want breakfast without the usual rush. We ordered the salty soy milk, sesame pancake, the Tao rice roll, and some xiao long bao, and every single thing hit the mark. The salty soy milk had that classic savory depth that takes me straight back to the little breakfast shops in Taipei. The sesame pancake was crispy and flaky on the outside with the soft insides and that perfect fried-dough stick crunch inside—exactly the texture you want. The Tao rice roll was packed and flavorful, not dry or skimpy on the fillings, and the xiao long bao were juicy with that nice burst of broth. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. One thing I really liked is how quiet it stays in the morning. Most people seem to grab their orders to-go, so the dining area stays pretty empty and peaceful. We sat down without any wait and just relaxed. The place is clean and tidy, nothing fancy, but comfortable. Most of the tables are set up for two, which worked great for us, though you can easily push a couple together if you have a bigger group. Prices felt fair for the portion sizes and quality—you walk out full without feeling like you overspent. We’re already talking about making this our regular weekend (and maybe weekday) breakfast stop. If you’ve ever been to Taiwan and miss that early-morning breakfast vibe, or if you just want to try something different from the usual American breakfast, give Tao Rice Roll a shot. The food is authentic enough to scratch the itch, the hours work, and the whole experience is low-key and satisfying. Looking forward to going back soon and trying more of the menu. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Taiwanese breakfast flavors.

Was a little skeptical when I first went in there because it was pretty empty but everything was surprisingly tasteful. Got the traditional rice roll with braised pork and egg in there and loved it. Also got the pork bone soup which was really fresh. They were also extremely generous on the pork ribs. A plus for being very cheap price too for these good food. Overall really pleasant experience and wouldn’t mind coming back at all.

When my bf started raving about this place that told rice rolls, I thought he was being overdramatic. I understand the hype now. This is such a simple food that leaves you so satisfyingly full. I got the Egg Bomb roll and it was delicious. Texture explosion - Rice was chewy, egg was soft, sausage had a bite to it, the pork floss and bread stick gave it a crunch. We also got the Egg pancake. We ordered it spicy but there was not even the tiniest amount of spice. It was still enjoyable but I wish we would have gotten what we ordered.

Tao Rice Roll is unique as it’s one of the only places in the area that serve up Taiwanese Rice Rolls. This place makes many different types that would satisfy most palates. Outside of rice rolls they also offer other things like soup, savory pancakes, sticky rice and noodles. Tao is one of the only Taiwanese/Chinese restaurants that opens early so if you’re craving for Asian cuisine in the morning Tao has you covered! We went here at 8am and there weren’t too many people, but by 8:30 there was a long line. Definitely makes sense to get here early if you’re looking to avoid a line!

Food is really good Recommend getting the egg pancake with a soy milk combo. Service takes a long time to make the food. When it gets busy with lots people can take a long time But food is freshly made from scratch and tastes very authentic, worth the wait. You want the food to be made fresh or else it wont taste right, like the pancakes need be crunchy. Probably need wait 20min plus sometimes. Got seating on side of store but not well stocked, ie don’t expect napkins or the table or floor to be cleaned up, more of a fast food vibe.
