Overall, for a DMV, this was probably the best experience I've ever had. In terms of smoothness of process, the kindness and orderly guiding of the staff, and the cleanliness of the facility. I did have to drive an extra 20 minutes to come here, instead of my local DMV, but it was worth every minute. Highly recommend this location.

A true 5 Star Experience here today! It’s been a long time since I had to go in person to the Department of Public Safety for a license renewal, but lucky me, this was my year. When I got my notification, I learned they now operate on an appointment system. I made my appointment and the next available was one almost one month away. Today was my day… An appointment I was dreading could not have gone smoother. I checked in 30 minutes prior to my appointment (the maximum allowed). I didn’t exactly clock how long it took me, but I was in and out and back on the road well before my scheduled appointment time and the person I worked with could not have been more pleasant!

The staff were all polite, professional, and helpful, and the office itself was well organized. However, I don’t understand the purpose of the appointment system. I was instructed to arrive 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, but then had to wait another 40 minutes after my actual appointment time before being called. If appointments are supposed to reduce wait times, the system isn’t accomplishing that. It also seemed that the scheduled appointment time wasn’t being followed consistently. If someone arrived before you—even if their appointment was later—they could still be called ahead. So what’s the point of assigning appointment times and asking people to arrive 30 minutes early if those times aren’t honored? The staff deserve credit, but the appointment system needs significant improvement.

Truly confused why it was a 50 min wait for a DL renewal. It was not busy and is by appointment only! The black woman with long hair was not helping everyone that walked in and is too slow. To be the greeter/ attendant when people walk in, they need to get every single person and make sure they have gotten documents needed before appt. She failed to do that and missed me. DPS employees need to be efficient, fast, sharp and hustle not lollygag.

1st time visit Plano DPS office today .. all staffs doing great job given proffesional yet efficient experiences to applicants, from staff infront checkin kiosk greeting asking your need then direct to counter 3 by Jessica proceed to Ms Peggy as roadtest examiner with details, all staffs address every applicant need without delay, fast, direct to the point and accurate w/o error 👍🏼 that You could not expect more , within 40 minutes already done and back to work 👍🏼
