WellMed at Stone Oak

I had my first appointment with my new doctor, Dr. Sandra Fernandez and was impressed by her professionalism, kindness, patience and attention to my concerns. She was very thorough and obviously had read my file prior to seeing me. I left the appointment confident in the quality of care I received and with clear goals moving forward. All of the staff that I encountered were welcoming, efficient and professional. The Stone Oak facility was clean, comfortable and inviting. I am very pleased with my decision to look to Stone Oak WellMed, and especially Dr. Fernandez, for my medical care.

Everyone at WellMed at Stone Oak is kind and caring. My care has always been excellent. The doctors and PAs are very knowledgeable and have ALWAYS listened to my concerns. Check in is always fast and the personnel in the lobby are always friendly. Would (and have) recommended this facility to my friends and family. Always a positive experience.

The WellMed clinic on Highway 281 is a large, clean, and well-maintained facility with a bright and welcoming atmosphere. I especially appreciate the health education programs displayed on the television in the waiting area, which make arriving early both informative and enjoyable. The registration staff consistently greet patients with a warm welcome and are always willing to assist with any needs. Before each appointment, the Physician Assistant (PA) courteously greets patients and performs the necessary vital sign assessments, helping ensure a smooth and efficient visit with the doctor. Last year I needed a new MD so I went to a Dr in the facility. I needed my Rx's filled so I made an appointment. I had changed insurance and they were not in network. I was given a price of the visit for patient pay and paid upon arrival 116.00. I received a balance of an additional 80+. I called and they had up coded the visit to a yearly physical. All they did was take my vitals, fill my rx for 3 months and give me a list of labs to have done.. don't know about but this doesn't sound like a physical. All they would say was I signed a form.. did not say anything at time of visit..DO NOT USE THIS PROVIDER...

I went to this facility in January for my first check up and charges for the visit have been in process for almost 4 months. I had contacted the customer service about this situation and no one seems to care. Also the insurance, which is own by the same company that owns Well Med gives me the run around, and customer services to. They continue to send bills to me, not to the insurance company hopping that I pay for something my insurances supposed too take cared of. I also feel that they're trying to take advantage of me because I' m a senior, an a Disabled Veteran.
