American Beauty Avenue

I absolutely love American Beauty Avenue! The customer service is always amazing and everyone is so welcoming the moment you walk in. Kennedy and Ms. White are both incredibly sweet, professional, and helpful every single time I come in. They truly make the experience enjoyable and make you feel valued as a customer. And I have to give a shoutout to Patrick the security guard! He is hilarious and always keeps everyone smiling and laughing. His personality honestly adds so much to the atmosphere. Great people, great vibes, and excellent service all around. Highly recommend!

Please do NOT go to American Beauty Avenue unless you want to be racially profiled, stereotyped, and yelled at by this woman. it is rare that I will have to get on Google reviews and write a negative review, but I have to say this to warn other people about the experience I had with this woman. Unfortunately, I didn’t get her name, but she made my experience at the store a living hell. She had miscalculated my total to $15 and a couple cents and when I corrected her she lied and said that she was gonna give me a price cut on one of the items and the total change down to $12. Once I did my calculations through my calculator I realised that she had charged me an extra item and when I told her she told me to be quiet calm down and stop yelling even though the whole interaction up until the end I was extremely calm just confused. It is clear that women of a different race will treat black women like they are thieves or liars, even though all we are trying to do is get ourselves some beauty products and look nice. I came in for some eyeliner and lipstick and that was it. She would not listen to me when I calmly explained the price in my calculations and kept bringing other customers into play who were completely confused and not even siding with her on what she was saying about me. She tried to embarrass me but honestly it didn’t work in her favor because the other customers were just trying to get their stuff and leave. I will note that there was a white older security guard guy that was there who tried to diffuse the situation. When we (the security guard and I) both counted my total, there were seven items on the receipt and six items in my bag, which is what I was trying to tell the Asian lady. She REFUSED to listen and had the mentality that “I am ALWAYS right and you are ALWAYS wrong” which I do not think is a good strategy when running a business. I appreciate it how the security guard was calm and didn’t disrespect me because the woman started yelling at me on some many occasions. Although he was calm, he didn’t really much to the situation because it would have been nice if he told the lady to stop yelling and making herself look bad. All the customers that were there were looking at me in a confused and worried way as that was happening. I am not a person who gets angry often or likes to have any tension around me so I decided I was just going to leave and go on about my day. As I was leaving the Asian lady yelled at the security guard, “Remember her face she can never come here again!” and honestly, her reaction was too much for the situation and made me extremely uncomfortable as I drove away. She doesn’t have to worry about me coming back because I refuse to. I can only assume that she had a bad day which is valid, but treating your customers like the bottom of a barrel is not okay in any way, shape, or form. As I said earlier I didn’t get her name, but if you go there and see this woman just know that there is a high chance she will try to put you in a negative narrative just for asking questions. in the past, I’ve already had a few unpleasant interactions at this company but never to this degree. I’d rather go to a black owned business who will respect their customers then one that treats them the way that I was treated here. Please be aware where you put your money at and I would highly recommend not to shop here. I will be making huge efforts to make sure nobody that I know, love, care for, and respect will go to a terrible and racist business such as this one. This is a clear example of an Asian business trying to capitalize off black Americans and their hard earned money. They don’t care about or respect you because all they want to do is get paid at the end of the day. it doesn’t matter how educated you are, How professional you might look act or sound because they will not see in that way and that’s extremely disheartening. The lady working in the store started helping me, but stopped quickly and started helping people behind me in the line. She left the register as if they were her friends or something. I politely left and spent my money at another hair store. I guess they didn’t need my purchase of human hair bundles. The security guy tried to help me but he was working the register after the cashier started helping her friends. Do better melanin🤦🏽‍♀️

Love this beauty supply! They always got what I need — edge control, bundles, nail stuff, all of it. The store is clean, the prices are good, and the workers actually help you instead of acting irritated. Definitely my go-to spot.

Went to the store to get wigs and the employees were very wonderful. Kennedy was excellent. She’ll make anybody wanna come back smile beautiful young lady.
