B2 Cafe is a neighborhood bakery at 147 Pleasant St in Malden, Massachusetts, serving customers looking for Chinese-style baked goods, desserts, roasted meats, and convenient lunch options. Reviews describe it as a clean, welcoming place with reasonably priced choices and helpful customer service. Although it is primarily a bakery rather than a sit-down restaurant, its selection reaches beyond pastries, making it useful for a quick treat, a bakery stop, or a simple meal to take away. Its 4.4-star rating from 185 reviews offers a helpful snapshot of local customer feedback.
The baked goods and desserts are a central reason people return. Customers mention sesame buns, coconut buns, chicken pie, and other Chinese bakery desserts, with one reviewer especially enjoying a coconut bun and planning to buy more on a future visit. Another describes B2 Cafe as a go-to Chinese bakery in the Boston area and makes a seasonal mango cake part of an annual birthday tradition. That cake is available when mangoes are in season, so availability may vary. For anyone exploring bakeries in Malden, these reviews point to a mix of familiar favorites and special-occasion sweets rather than a menu limited to one kind of pastry.
B2 Cafe also offers roast meats, including duck, chicken, and pork, along with lunch boxes. A customer highlights the three-treasure lunch box, which lets diners choose three meats and comes with rice and a vegetable. This gives nearby residents and visitors another practical reason to stop in when they want a filling lunch alongside bakery items. Customer comments also mention barbecue meats and pork belly, though individual selections and preparation can vary. The overall picture is of a bakery with several savory options, not a full-service dining room.
The setting is described by customers as cute and clean, with counter-service bakery shopping rather than a restaurant-style meal. Reviewers say the desserts are reasonably priced and compare favorably with those they have tried at Chinatown bakeries. Credit cards are accepted for purchases of $10 or more, according to one customer review. Whether you are picking up buns for home, looking for a seasonal cake, or choosing a lunch box with roasted meats, B2 Cafe offers a straightforward stop on Pleasant Street. It may suit individuals, families, and anyone in the area who wants Chinese bakery flavors and ready-to-go food in one place.
B2 Cafe is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, then Thursday through Sunday; it is closed Wednesday. These hours make it possible to visit for a morning bakery item, an afternoon dessert, or a lunch pickup on most days of the week. Since seasonal items such as mango cake may not be available year-round, checking with the bakery before making a special trip can help set expectations. For local searches for a bakery in Malden, MA, B2 Cafe stands out in customer accounts for its Chinese-style sweets, savory bakery choices, and roast-meat lunch options.

After Eldo’ Bakery in Chinatown closed, this became my go-to Chinese bakery in the Boston area. Every August, I come here for a mango cake for my birthday, and it has become a tradition I look forward to every year. The mango cake is only available when mangoes are in season, so it’s definitely something to look forward to. This year, the 8-inch cake was $52.50, and it was absolutely worth it. One tip when ordering: be very specific about the mango! Ask for mango inside and outside the cake. If you just say “mango on top,” they may give you mango chunks. I specifically ask for mango slices on the outside and mango inside the cake. The cake itself is incredible—sweet, juicy mangoes, soft and fluffy sponge cake, and light, airy cream. The combination is just perfect. I honestly look forward to this cake every year. One of the best cakes in the Boston area!
I was craving pork belly so I stopped by. I didn't notice the pork belly hanging in the glass container with the heat but I did notice it behind it over the butcher's block. I thought it would be fresh and hot. I asked for a pound (A POUND …
Cute and clean bakery located on Pleasant St in Malden. We tried a few Chinese deserts which were reasonably priced and as good as any I've had at my favorite Chinatown bakeries. CCs are accepted for amounts of $10 or more
This is mainly a bakery rather than a sit-down restaurant, but they also sell roast duck, chicken, pork...and lunch boxes. The 3-treasure lunch box is a highlight — you can choose three meats, and it comes with rice and a vegetable …
