Sign in to reviewIncredible. The chicken was truly some of the best chicken I've had in the Bay Area across all cuisines. I also loved the pho, pork, and their BBQ beef was nothing short of incredible. I can't wait to come back!! Also, the location used to be a US Bank before Ben Tre took over and the authentic old bank vault is the centerpiece of the bar. Pretty cool looking aesthetic and the inside is really elegant.
What an amazing addition to the neighborhood! The food is amazing and the service top notch. It's not common to see an entirely open kitchen in an Asian restaurant, it's so nicely designed here. My family loves the 5 spiced chicken, the pho of course and I'm a big fan of the Vietnamese coffee (try the freeze version). Will absolutely visit often!
Good quality but uncertain it’s worth the $$, as of right now. We ordered the Garlic Noodle Plate with two meats (pork chop and beef) ($26.95) and 5 Spice Chicken with Rice ($21.50). Recognizing it was still during the soft opening: for the Garlic noodle plate, the pork chop was nicely grilled, the noodles were okay and the beef portion was small. The chicken was again nicely grilled and moist but the rice was dry. The staff were friendly and attentive with one experienced member joining from another location and other new staff coming up to speed as the work towards graduating from soft launch ~ mid/late April 2026. Value wise, while the pork chop was well-prepared and enhanced the quality of the noodle dish, I’d rather spend the $$ at their sister restaurant Gao or pay less for similar dishes of slightly lower quality at other restaurants on Irving, Ocean, or nearby Daly City. $20+ for pho is hard to swallow. Ambiance: it’s bustling and can be loud at times. We went at 6:30 when about 90% of tables were taken (no wait). We were seated against the back wall near the hallway to the restroom and while we could hear each other across the table, it was noticeably buzzy from the conversations around the large room. We also endured obnoxiously loud sound from the neighboring table where a phone played videos on speaker for a small child - thankfully they left after 20 minutes but not what we bargained for.
Came in try Ben Tre 3.0. Been waiting for it to open for a LONG time. Great space, open and airy. Use to be a bank, vault still there at the bar. Just opened 2 weeks ago. Still “soft opening” and adding more menu items and staff. Friendly attentive service. Food is good . Saw Mr Gao in the kitchen working hard. Definitely would recommend this place. Plenty of street parking and even a public parking area across the street. If you’re into authentic Vietnamese food, this is a must try.
Nice n clean spot but this place needs more attention to flavors , pho is below standard n combo rice place , pork chop is either not fresh because it is so dry..! Disappointed.! If you going to charge this much , the flavors should be there .! But it is not .!
