Sign in to reviewNew review entry May 2026: Had a massage with Anya today and wow. I didn’t realize how tight my shoulders and back were until after. I walked out feeling so mobile and relaxed… on an extreme note, I also want to add that I feel like I was on a different planet. Anya is seriously skilled and talented. Every touch, movement and amount of pressure felt intentional. At one point, I felt like I could walk on water because my body became liquid. No— that would mean I felt like I BECAME water!! It was somehow a physical, mental, spiritual and emotional experience. This sounds really dramatic but Im being so for real!!! Definitely the best massage I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. I’m on my way home after 10 cups of their bael tea and still don’t know what sorcery I entered. Was I massaged or reborn? Maybe I’ll keep adding to this review log to track my journey at Bhuddha Raksa— everyone needs to know about this magical little oasis in the City. Is there a character count on here Feeling: zenned OUT 😮💨🧘🏻♀️ ——————————— Older review entry from 2026: Bhuddha Raksa Thai Massage is my favorite place in San Francisco, and I don’t say that lightly. I’ve been coming here for a little while, and it’s one of the few places I genuinely look forward to every time I book, which, as a member, is pretty often. The space is always clean, calm, and welcoming. They provide slippers for guests to wear past the check-in area… which is when you know they truly care about cleanliness. The staff are consistently kind and focused, and you can tell they care about the experience they’re creating, not just getting through the next client. The massages are consistently amazing. I’ve tried different therapists and massage types, and what stands out is how skilled they are. Within the first few minutes, you can tell they’re paying attention and adjusting to what your body actually needs. They are also great at communicating and asking whether the pressure is okay. Raksa Therapeutic is my favorite because it combines deep tissue, Thai massage and hot stones. I can feel the difference right away and I always come out of my massage room feeling fixed up, mobile, calmer, happier, and amazing. But what really makes it special for me is the full experience. After my massage, if I’m not in their amazing infrared sauna room, I always take a half hour or more to sit, slow down, and drink their magical bael tea and eat their ginger snacks. I love my post-massage ‘spas’ at Bhuddha Raksa so much I started buying packs of dried bael fruit online to make the tea at home to attempt to recreate the experience. I’ve recommended this place to friends and family without hesitation, and I’ll keep doing it. I always leave feeling lighter, calmer, and honestly just really, really, really happy. Writing this review immediately after a massage with one of my favorite therapists Mia, so if this sounds extra positive… it’s because I’m currently operating at peak relaxation levels and have zero complaints about life at this very moment.
Loved it! A really quite environment, even though outside is really noisy, and clean. I tried the Weekday Specials which they have 5 options to pick from and I picked Foot Ritual since I’m on my feet all day. Over all love the experience and was really affordable . Danny was great ☺️
I have been going to Bhuddha Raksa for a couple years, and always had a great experience - until earlier this year. Towards the end of the 2025, they rolled out a new member plan and the key perk was getting 1 free 1HR massage a month, which I signed up for. Apparently, they decided to increase their 1HR massage costs in 2026, and when I went in for my "free" massage as part of the membership, they decided to charge me the delta between how much the massage used to cost and their new increased rate. I asked to speak to their manager, Anya, to understand why the terms of the membership plan changed, and she got extremely aggressive with me. All I was doing was trying to understand why I would have to pay extra for something that was part of my membership plan, and Anya was completely disregarding me, became extremely rude, and then said "FINE, ILL CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP OK??", which I never wanted... I didnt even know my membership was cancelled until I tried to schedule another appointment and was told as such. This last week I tried to use my class pass credits to book a massage here, and without any notification or warning it was cancelled by them. I tried to book again today, and cancelled within 10 minutes. Clearly, this is Anya's doing. I have been told by staff members that she is extremely mean to her team, they barely get any breaks, and are just generally overworked. She acts like a dictator to her own team, which is unfortunate because the masseuses are all very nice and a few are really good at massages. The funniest part? They updated their membership plan to give 1 free massage a month again, for the same exact price I was paying previously....
I had a 90-minute deep tissue session with Danny and the level of relief I’ve felt since has been incredible. He released tension I’ve clearly been carrying for a very long Time, and I’m honestly still adjusting to how much better my body feels today. I just wanted to take a moment to share how talented, intuitive, and wonderful he was throughout the session. I’m truly looking forward to seeing him again in the future.
My Husband brought me to San Fran for the first time for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I do personal bodywork for others as a lifelong career and healthcare business - so I’m really picky about whether or not other pros are truly gifted at their work, or theyre just hired hands. These people are gifted. Having performed PNF (a form of physical therapy) for most of my own Clients back at home, I could tell the staff here knew the anatomy extremely well. We chose for them to blend massage with their signature stretching. My gal was very careful with my neck injury, focused strongly exactly where I had asked, avoided the areas I had asked to avoid, and ultimately rid me of my headache because of her talent and care as well as created a sense of peace in my range of motion. having rented a home while we were there my body and my injuries were causing me to suffer after a couple of days. She resolved this. My husband left feeling vibrant and joyful also! They have a little sauna we sat in for a while before he showered and I touched up my makeup to go and hit the City again! Beautiful space, talented staff, very attentive.
