For people who need help handling official paperwork, this office stands out as a practical option in Chinatown with extended daily hours from morning to evening, seven days a week. That schedule can be especially helpful for busy professionals, families, and travelers trying to fit important paperwork into a packed week. Customers often turn to Bow Joy Services for assistance with notarization, document authentication, visa-related paperwork, and declarations connected to overseas family or government processes. Reviews suggest that some of the work handled here involves complicated, multi-step requirements that can be difficult to manage alone, especially when documents must move between county, state, consular, or international channels. For clients dealing with name change authentication, passport-related submissions, or paperwork tied to China, the value appears to be in having a local service in San Francisco that understands how detailed these processes can be. That kind of support may be especially useful for people who want in-person guidance rather than trying to sort through each requirement on their own.
The overall impression of the office is one of a service-centered business that many customers use when the stakes feel personal and time-sensitive. Positive reviews mention responsiveness, professionalism, and help with complex cases, including visa applications and authenticated documents for family abroad. Some customers also appreciated the reassurance they received during stressful steps such as sending passports or coordinating time-sensitive paperwork. At the same time, public feedback is mixed, reflected in the 4.1 rating from 22 reviews, so it is reasonable for new clients to ask clear questions about timelines, fees, and scope of service before moving forward. That straightforward approach can help set expectations and support a smoother experience.
For those searching for a notary public in San Francisco, CA with experience around international paperwork, Bow Joy Services may be worth considering. Its location on Clay Street, daily 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM hours, and focus on document-related support make it relevant for local residents, students, business owners, and families handling cross-border matters. Sign in to reviewBow Joy Services handled my visa application with class and professionalism. I was nervous to ship my passport from out of state but their staff was responsive and kept me at ease throughout the process. Highly recommended.
I would give zero stars if I could. Do not pay any money to Spencer Chase. You will not see your money again, nor will he provide the services he lists on the invoice. I chose this agency based on glowing Yelp reviews and I am very unhappy that I was scammed out of my money. I am pursuing filing complaints with regulatory agencies. The matter that I needed help with was that I discovered that my name had been incorrectly recorded on the title of our house several years ago and needed to correct it. Spencer assured me that he could assist, sent me an invoice, which I paid, and later informed me that the process was trickier than he initially thought, and I paid him additional funds. He initially was responsive, seemed like a trustworthy person, but after 8 months had passed with no results, I asked for my money to be refunded. Spencer assured me he was in the process of filing the paperwork and also assured me that I would be compensated for the delay. This past June (14 months from our first contact), he informed me that he had filed the paperwork. In August, when I called to see why I hadn't received the corrected title as he had promised, he admitted he had not yet filed the paperwork. Again promised he was going to file the paperwork immediately, would compensate me for the delay etc. I contacted him 4 or 5 times after that, with the same response. Apologies for the delay, paperwork will be filed soon, I will be compensated. I have since secured a different agency which charged me $250 (Spencer charged me $2750) and completed the task in one month (Spencer began "working" on this task in March 2023 and to date has not completed it).
My name change authentication with the Chinese Consulate was supposed to be a quick turnaround, according to the Chinese Consulate of San Francisco website, the process should take less than 10 business days since I had already completed County & State authentications on my own. Spencer got the certification to me FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS later!!! Cost was exorbitant, Spencer charged me double the price another agent charged me for a three-level (County/State/Chinese Consulate) authentication that had a three-week turnaround. I had to change travel plans to China multiple times and completely missed the notary deadline there. What a traumatizing experience. Spencer promised to compensate for all the stress, tears, and trouble he had caused, but it was all empty promise.
I worked with Bow Joy Services late 2021 and early 2022 for services for document authentication, and an ID declaration for family overseas. This was intensely complicated and would probably be impossible to do on my own, not only due to how complex the entire process was, but also because I had to coordinate between a family member overseas, on top of it still being during the pandemic. We only had to fill out the forms and provide any identification needed. Spencer handled everything, including picking up the documents, getting them notarized at our home, and sending them to the embassy/Secretary of State for authentication. These sound like simple steps, but when you deal with any government organization, you know these things move very slowly, even slower due to COVID. We also had a family member with mobility issues, and having Spencer travel to us and handle everything without us having to leave our home, was so convenient and reduced a lot of our stress. He was great at updating us when needed, and was working at seemingly all hours of the day. Even still, there were a few hiccups along the way due to the complexity of this whole process and how picky the embassy is with how documents are written, but he worked closely with us to get all issues resolved in a timely manner, and the documents mailed overseas. I highly recommend Bow Joy Services and especially Spencer.
I usually do not write review but this is an exception . I contact Bow Joy services and ask if they do visa for China and i got Spencer . He is WONDERFUL and very EFFICIENT. He came all the way to Sacramento to pick up all of my docs that needed for the visa and he is coming back out this way to drop it off, that is what I call FRONT DOOR SERVICE!!! Thank You Spencer for the stress free service. I would highly recommend this place. Totally a 5 Plus Stars!!!
