Sign in to reviewWe have been eating our way through S.F for 20 years and this was a new find. Score! Great service and great food!
I visit this restaurant roughly 2-3 times a year. This trip, I was here for their lunch combo special for $16.95. I chose the house salad, pot stickers, and spicy basil chicken. I also had the Thai fish cake appetizer dish. The food was good, though i think grounded chicken would’ve tasted better than sliced chicken for my spicy basil dish (but that’s my personal opinion). Services was good, and the place is no frills but clean.
Stumbled upon this place randomly and the food didn’t disappoint. It wasn’t busy at all on Friday evening so we were able to easily walk in. Great Thai food with plenty of options as a vegetarian. The green curry was one of the best I had and they made it spicy yet super flavorful. Tom yum soup was great too. The service was very fast and friendly.
Well-priced, but unmemorable, Thai eatery in the heart of Mission. Though updated, the interior looks a bit retrograde from the 1990s. Low-ceilings, little natural light. Seafood Noodle Soup (with egg noodle) got the base elements right, but little beyond that. A good option when looking for a Thai option on 24th. Otherwise, may be better served at another TL option.
3/162024* I went for the Chili Cha Cha Spicy Pan Fried Noodle. It's packed with egg noodles, duck, veggies, fresh chili, and basil. It's got a real kick to it! 9/30/2023 This time, I tried the Chili Cha Cha Spicy Pan Fried Noodle, which consists of egg noodles stir-fried with duck, mixed vegetables, fresh chili, and basil leaves. It's quite spicy. Overall, it tastes good, but the strong flavor of white pepper tends to overshadow the other ingredients, which is a bit disappointing. We also ordered their mango sticky rice for dessert, and it was delicious! I would wholeheartedly recommend their Pad See-ew. 8/7/2023 Returning for the second time to Chili Cha Cha 2, I was determined to take on their ultimate spice challenge: "very hot." Just like in my previous review, I was ready for an unforgettable experience. Our choice for starters was the Dressed Prawn (6pcs) – fried marinated prawns enveloped in a delicate spring roll sheet, accompanied by a sensational Sriracha cream sauce. The cream sauce, in particular, was an absolute delight. This time around, I ordered the Thai Spicy Pan Fried Noodle (PAD KEE MAO). This dish, a symphony of flat rice noodles stir-fried with an array of ingredients including mushrooms, bamboo shoots, broccoli, bell pepper, onion, and basil, was a spicy adventure I couldn't resist. I must admit, the spice level had my forehead breaking a light sweat, but oh, was it worth it! The dish was an explosion of deliciousness, with flavors that truly delighted my taste buds. For the true spicy food enthusiasts, the "very hot" level is a must-try. It's a fiery punch that leaves a memorable impression. However, if you prefer occasional spice, I'd recommend the medium or hot level for a satisfying kick without setting your taste buds ablaze. 7/26/2023* We had the Pad See-Ew at Chili Cha Cha 2, a dish that features pan-fried flat rice noodles with Chinese broccoli, egg, and chicken, all seasoned with black soy sauce. We opted for the "hot" level of spiciness, and it truly left a remarkable impression on us! In terms of taste and flavor, this Pad See-Ew ranks among the top 3 I've ever had, even compared to the ones in Albany, CA, and New York. The seasoning was on point, perfectly balanced and satisfying. When the waitress brought the dish to our table, the sight of the hot steam escaping from it only added to our anticipation. (Please find the attached photo for reference!) The dish was incredibly flavorful and delicious, with just the right amount of spiciness – a feature that I personally enjoyed the most. In fact, my partner found it so spicy that he was sweating throughout the entire meal! He even commented that it was spicier than the Pad See-Ew he had in Thailand – quite the compliment! The attentive and accommodating service from our server was much appreciated. She consistently checked in with us, ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to our next visit, where we plan to try the next spicy level, "very hot"! Overall, our experience at Chili Cha Cha 2 was fantastic, and I can confidently recommend it to anyone craving some flavorful and spicy Pad See-Ew.
