Absolutely a must try, carefully prepared, looks good and even taste better. Service was top notch with hosts checking in multiple times - it does seem like a well run place. Chicken and waffles 🧇 was great, chicken was not oily and it was tender. Crepe was how I liked it , crunchy and well booked filling. Street parking available and outdoor seating is ample. Will be back again and again
Came here on a Sunday morning around 11:00 knowing we would need to wait. Requesting for a table of two, there was a QR code outside the restaurant to scan in order to get on the wait list. There were a total of 8 parties ahead of us. To my pleasant surprise, we were seated approximately 35 minutes from signing up. This is not a very big restaurant so I was impressed of how quickly we were seated. We ordered the Signature flight for drinks, chicken and pandan waffle, gochujang fried tofu, and the fig balsamic crepe. The food came out very quickly given how busy they were. Everything was SO GOOD! Couldn't really pick a favorite out of the three dishes we ordered but I must say the fried tofu was excellent. The service is very good. Every server was very kind and patient despite how busy they were. They asked if we have any questions before ordering with a smile. I counted a total of 3-4 people working the floor, at least 3-4 ppl in the kitchen. We stayed about a little over an hour and never felt rushed. We will definitely return, highly recommend trying it out, especially their drinks.
I love me a good eggs benedict!! And looking at the pictures of Churn Café's version was too pretty to resist. Especially when reading the description of a yuzu hollandaise sauce! Yum!! Way to add a zing to classic. Honestly, their whole menu is enticing. I found the dining area cute and inviting. I got lucky and was sat quickly. They are a hoppin' cafe for good reason. They do have a nice outside seating area if you prefer some fresh sunshine. I ordered the eggs benedict with Canadian bacon on a waffle and an ube latte. I love that they have pictures on the menu of all the items, though it makes decisions a little more challenging 😄. So much delicious looking food and drinks. This is a great place for a brunch get together, lunch with friends, or flying solo and treating yourself to something special. And it's reasonably priced. Everything was delicious and the staff was so kind. They were earning their paychecks that day and I was so greatful for their hard work. The waffle was light and fluffy, with a touch of sweetness. The yuzu hollandaise gave the dish an extra oomph of flavor. The ube latte was perfection. Not to sweet but so tasty with a hint of vanilla. I will be telling anyone who will listen they need to go to Churn Café. I know I'll be back 😃 There is so much more on the menu I want to try!! Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and kind staff. I highly recommend this place be added to your next go to eatery! Cheers!
Love! Top 5 brunch places in Portland. We ordered the special fried rice, gochujang fried chicken and waffles, and the …
Very unique breakfast spot with tasty and Instgram worthy food and drinks. The Ube Waffle is dense, chewy and spongy, has a unique flavor that ube brings, a nice sweet cream, and fresh berries...i could see some mint as garnish to compliment it. It looks like it'll be overly sweet but it actually isnt; a nice surprise. However, not a lot of flavors as they're all somewhat muted. The black sesame latte is very interesting...again. This is not a sweet and condensed coffee drink like a a0 cream, sesame, salt, and caramel. Great and fun place for brunch. I think the highlights are more visual than actual taste substance however, IMO.
