On first glance I thought I’d found a better place than the Royal Street Walgreens and the unruly stores on Canal… This CVS Store seemed well stocked, had a variety of choices, a sales associate walked by me and even said hello, then I tried to check out! WHAT A MESS! I had a $7 item. I get to the checkout area, same gentleman that said hello to me is at the counter but is motioning for everyone to use self checkout. At this time there’s barely a line but in front of me is a bunch of kids. Ok fine, the kids about 4 of them bounce from 1 checkout to another and never complete a transaction. I finally walk up to purchase, the machine is saying I owe money for some candy. I look over and all the machines are in the same state. I try to ask anyone can you clear the machine so I can checkout. One woman walks up does something but does not complete clearing the machine and goes to help one woman. I’m standing there watching the line back up and not able to do anything. Finally the other gentleman from before walks up and clears the machine and walks away. Then I notice the item I have does not have a bar code to scan. I’m trying to get anyone’s attention, the one woman is still helping the other customer with her back to me. I stood there for at least 3-5 minutes waiting, then gave up. Walked back put my item back as the line was now thru the front of the store and left. Went to the Walgreens on Royal purchased the same item in less than 3 minutes and was back home in less time than I stood waiting for help at CVS. Never mind I’ll stick to Walgreens on Royal!

The CVS on Decatur is a smaller store but it is fairly well stocked with snacks, first aid supplies and sundries. The staff is friendly and helpful and the automated check outs work pretty well. There is a large selection of snacks, beverages and even a small wine department. The store is kept clean and over all going here is a decent shopping experience.

Broken machines causing transactions to take 20+ minutes, staff wouldn't accept exact change, the whole experience was quite awful. The manager was not helpful and did not expedite the process, no one was able to offer assistance. I am requesting a manager to reach out please.
